I am currently trying to add a section of code to auto suggest the next message code (taking the message last one in the database and suggesting the next one to the user) in the text box. Any suggestions?

How are you presenting the suggested message to the end user?

In a text box on a pop up window.

I would suggest that you need to store an Unique ID column next to each message within your database, or a column for the sequence, (which ever best suits your requirements), the store the last shown message Id somewhere.
When you the want to show the next message :
SELECT TOP 1 MessageText FROM MessageTable WHERE MessageId > LastMessageId

We do not have the permissions to create new columns in the database. We have to go with the column message codes that is already in there.

|
|

|
IF there is not a field that you could use as a comparison, like an ID field, then you could open up the table, search the each record (do loop/for each) for matching text to the current message text and then move to the next record and display that. When you get to EOF, then just go to the first record and display that message. Long way around, but sometimes you are forced to do things in code you nromally would have to do because of bad database design.

Hi,
im monitoring data from Temperature Sensors and writing it all into Excel (measuring 32000 samples).
I want to make an online chart in the form which will show me the Temperature graph dinamicly,
1)should i make an array of 32,000 filled with Zeros and send it to the chart whenever new data arrives ?
2)Is there a way to send a single incoming data to the chart and adding it to data which came before ?
3)how do I send data to chart without connecting it to any data source ?
(sending an array or adding values to it ... Chart FX, Microsoft Office Chart 11.0 or any other chart).
Thanks.

Online as in on the internet (that's what it usually means) or online as in live?
Kobi_Z wrote: 1)should i make an array of 32,000 filled with Zeros and send it to the chart whenever new data arrives ?
Yes and no. Don't use an array, but you will have to send all the data that you want to be visible again and again. It'll probably be better to use a datatable, with an added index column (someone will correct me if I am wrong about this, I am sure).
Kobi_Z wrote: 2)Is there a way to send a single incoming data to the chart and adding it to data which came before ?
This depends on your answer to the first question.

Connecting it to a data source by binding is always certainly going to be the fastest / most efficient, so why would you want to avoid doing that?

You want to replace the login-screen of Windows? With Visual Basic.NET?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but AFAIK that cannot be done with .NET.
For anything prior to Vista, you'd need to write a replacement for GINA[^]. Otherwise, go for a Credential Provider[^].

Try rentacoder or, better still, admit to your client that you lied about your ability, return their money and find a new careeer.
If you cannot use the help and/or google to work out how to sort a datagridview (google returned over 18,00 hits for 'sort datagridview example') then you don't deserve to be paid for doing development work.

Have you checked the InnerException? You will find more details there.

You are using un-initialized object some where in your code.

For some the DataGridView doesn't get populated when i used inside a UserControl. It does perfectly inside a Form. I'm using VS2008 in a x64 plattaform. I did forced the application to a x86 CPU. As i've mentioned works fine in a Form but not within the UserControl. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What you're talking about is speech recognition, and if you use version 3.5 of the .Net framework, then it can be done. I made a post about nine hours ago with instructions

You answer questions nine hours in advance now? I'm err ... speechless. (My TextBox will remain empty).
