Just thought I'd post some more theories.
- Sean appears to be part of some beta testing group. Not sure what that is, but maybe there is a beta section of the site where he posted an article and that is contributing to the count for all articles submitted.
- Sean is an editor. Maybe one of the articles he edited counted toward his article count.
- Maybe this is a remnant of an old bug and his article count just never got cleaned up to reflect his actual article count.
Visual Studio is an excellent GUIIDE.

Sean is an editor - he's part of our team at CodeProject HQ.
The wrong count bug has been identified and is due to some new article types (Technical blogs, Tips) that we've added, but which are not all public yet.
We should have a fix out soon.

I have a problem with the article: Introduction to the Microsoft Web Platform - dougturn.
This article only contains commecial information. This approach of dougturn does not give right to those thousants of peoples who helped the code project in their own time to create a valuable repositry of articles over the years. I like to vote for deleting of this article.

I don't get it. Why didn't MS submit this as a Product Showcase article? Are they asking their employees to moonlight as evangelists?
Now let me see...what's the term for articles without downloads?

During the last few days I read in one of the forums a comment that people are less likely to offer advice to questions that already have a response.
I also believe that to be the case. There are many possible reasons for that, despite the possibility that the only response might be either sarcastic or something like a request for clarification.
Does anybody therefore think that for the latter case it might be a good idea if there were a 'request for clarification' message type category?

I'm not sure 'request for clarification' would be any better than just 'General'.
If someone is answering a question with a request for more info the best thing they can do is change the message type away from 'answer'. Whether this be 'request for clarification' or 'general' won't matter - it's changing away from 'answer' that is the trick

If I paste an url into a message then click on the link[^] button it submits my message.
(Also auto clickety doesn't and never has worked from Opera)
Seems fine from FF.
Note that the convert url thingie was working as recently as yesterday.

Confirmed, and will fix.

Can't really reproduce it since I can't select the server I'm on but when I was on web21 the dropdown menu for 'message boards' only displayed 'All Message Boards...'
Don't know if it's coincidence or not.
Have noticed this before but usually a refresh solved it, now I had to do 4 refreshes, only on the last the server changed and the menu came back.
I guess on previous encounters with this bug I went to a new server after the first refresh.

Coincidentally, as I read your message I thought I'd check what server I'm on. Fancy that, I was on Web21 when I read your message, checked the menu and it's ok here. FF3.5.3

Odd. We did have that as a bug a while ago but I remember driving a wooden spike through it.

Checked and seems fine now. Maybe I'll have to send in Sam and Dean.

Strange, I notice this one once in a while but this was the first time it persisted after 3 reloads.
Wouldn't spend to much time on it tho, wouldn't surprise me if it's only me that's has this bug. I'm starting to think the hamsters are out to get me (hey it's not paranoia if it's true )

I was going through the C++/MFC forum, as I tend to do.
I wrote a response to a question: http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/3245509/Re-find-angle.aspx[^]
I go on a couple of questions to: http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/3245085/Re-Displaying-a-chart-in-a-CScrollView-report.aspx[^], a thread partially about Cedric's charting control.
On the linked post, there's a link to an external page... or so the text of the link says. But when I clicked on it, it took me to the Re-find-angle page linked above! The Status bar confirms this URL too.
My first though was "what a twonker, he's messed up his link". But the find-angle thread was posted almost 10 hours later. So either Sternocera knows something I don't, or CP has messed up the link.
Just in case it's browser related, I'm using FF 3.5.3. I've saved the "complete web page" if needed to be emailed.
Later testing... The link in Sternocera's post goes to whatever the current page is. If I go to: http://www.codeproject.com/Forums/1647/C-Cplusplus-MFC.aspx[^]
and browse my way down to Sternocera's response, the link is to the "raw" forum... So time travel is now less likely!

I live and learn. Didn't know href="" ended up being whatever the current page was.
I still prefer my psychic time traveller theory...
Thanks,

Well - it did make more sense, but suprisingly the more mundane answer won in this case.

upon my request I no longer am a member of the Beta group, so the Beta group's page now is empty for me.
when someone reacts on one of my messages in the Beta group's forum I can't see my own messages, I can't see the reply and I can't reply to it.
Suggestions:
1. Stop sending mail notifications for reactions in Beta forum to people who aren't a member;
2. warn the person trying to react that to reply is to be expected.

After receiving an email from an author about an article, clicking the link to the article in the email message shows you a line that says:
This article is still being written and is not currently available for general viewing. Please go to the Charts, Graphs and Images Table of Contents to view the list of available articles in this section.
even though Gold and above should still be able to see the article and the article has not been approved for public.
