Hi Devs
can we use repeater control with checkboxlist ?
Is below piece of code correct or not. On adding this code,I get a error in code behind as it doesn't recognise chboxlst.
Or is there any other way i can add date control next to each checkbox populated from database.
<table>
<asp:Repeater >
<ItemTemplate>
<tr>
<td >
<asp:CheckBoxList runat="server" ID="chboxlst">
</asp:CheckBoxList>
</td>
<td valign="top" width="100" ">
<radCln:RadDateTimePicker ID="date" runat="server">
</radCln:RadDateTimePicker>
</td>
</tr>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
</table>
Thank You

The code is right. On codebehind you will not able to find controls that are inside repeater. So from codebehind you have to use findcontrol to get the control..
Inside ItemDataBound use eventhandler of Repeater get the control using :
CheckBoxList lst = e.Item.FindControl("chboxlst") as CheckBoxList;

Thanks,
That's working but another problem is that i can access lst only under that ItemDataBound event handler. Whereas chboxlst is called under many methods. So is there any way out to this ?

Hi felllows, How can I add RadioButtonList inside a grideview. I have bind a grideview with a dataset and it's showing 4 columns. I want to add another column showing radiobuttonlist for each row. I was unable to find some good examples. Perhaps anyone of you help me out.
Thanks

Thanks for replying but I have tried adding radiobuttonlist to a template field. What happens is that after the page is rendered all radiobutton values are same. So i click on a first radiobutton and then select another radiobutton they both are selected. There should only be one selected at a time.
The link you have given me doesn't talk about radiobutton list. Perhaps you may have posted an incorrect url.
Thanks

Actually I was giving the idea on how to use control inside template field
Rather this might help you with some examples :

See the example at the end. I think this is what you are looking for...

I seems that when I compile my ASP.NET app on my 64-bit machine, VS is creating 64bit assemblies. Which is weird, because I thought .NET was supposed to JIT to the target processor. However, I've verified this because the website only works when I use the 64-bit SQLite dll's. Of course, that could also be because the JIT'er is compiling for 64 bits on my machine when I test the code.
Still, is there a way to force .NET to target specifically 32-bit CPU's? Has anyone else found this to be a problem, or am I losing my marbles here?

In the Configuration Manager for the solution you can change the Active solution platform to specified the CPU to target
only two letters away from being an asset

I have got the german visual studio (so I translated all the combobox entries...) but I hope I can guide you.
In your studio, after you opened your project, you will find a combobox with the text "Any CPU".
The last point in this list is "configurations-manager". Choose this entry and select in the second
combobox (active platform) the entry "<new...>". Select the platform x86 and check to checkbox.
Now you can choose how to compile your app "Any CPU" or "x86" (32-Bit-applications).
I hope it helps.

I have set up a system where registration and login are required, and as part of teh registration process I confirm Email addresses by sending a message containing an authorization code - all pretty standard stuff.
The problem is that my host server requires authentication and the only way I have found to send the email needs my server host login id and password, which I don't want to include in the ASP.NET code, or even in the web.config file if I can help it. Is there some authentication I have missed which doesn't use this?
using System.Net.Mail;
...
MailMessage mail = new MailMessage();
string body = "Hello " + mu.UserName + " and thank you for registering your new account...<br/>";
mail.Body = body;
mail.IsBodyHtml = true;
mail.To.Add(new MailAddress(mu.Email));
mail.From = new MailAddress("NoReply@XXX.com", "NoReply@XXX.com", Encoding.UTF8);
mail.Subject = "New account registration";
mail.SubjectEncoding = Encoding.UTF8;
mail.Priority = MailPriority.Normal;
SmtpClient smtp = new System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient();
smtp.Host = "mail.XXX.com";
smtp.Port = 26;
smtp.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("<my log in id>", "<my log in password>");
smtp.Send(mail);

Heh - I just uses them!
port_26.html said: You can specify port in your email program, but that is only when your own SMTP Server is configured to receive connections on port other than 25.
My server specifies port 26:
Taken from EMAIL account setup: Manual Settings
Mail Server Username: noreply+XXX.com
Incoming Mail Server: mail.XXX.com
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) LSN-D????.XXX.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.XXX.com (server requires authentication) port 26
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) chopin.XXX.com (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)
It may be non-standard, and I have no idea why, but it works - emails get sent!

Check if server is reachable. Just ping the server from your machine.

Yes, the server is reachable. The server sends emails. I can receive and read them.
What I need to know is: Is there a way that I can do this without including my log in ID and password in ASP.NET source or the web.config file?

// create the adapter and fill the DataSet
OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter("Select * from SUBSCRIBER_DEVICES", con);

In my application i want to catch the row number of a gridview from the click event of a button,which is inside the cell of the gridview.Actually i want to know the row number of the button clicked.How can it be achieved??
Thanx in advance.

Quite a few ways. Add an attribute to your button and set its value as Container.DisplayIndex. Then you can access this attribute in the click event of the button to get the row index. You can also do the same using the naming container property.
