You want to develop your own search?
You can use normal sql code to get the search data and then show in your site.
Or you want to use Google Search to your website. If so see this :

For ur internal website search create a textbox and then a button.
write an extensive stored procedure which will search ur database(or part of it, depends on your functionality).
call this stored procedure everytime a user searches .
If the returned search data is more show it with paging on your page.
I have implemented this but my result was to be in a grid with paging if result had more than 10 values.

How can we show the bold text in textbox....
|
|
|
|
|
do this
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" Font-Bold="True"></asp:TextBox>
|
|
|
|
|
Use
txt.Style.Add(HtmlTextWriterStyle.FontWeight, "bold");
Or you can directly use
style="font-weight:bold;"
Cheers

Hi, I have created a div in my xsl file which acts as a popup when a button is clicked. Can somebody please tell me how I can make the faded background around the div? ie the div panel is fine and clear but the rest of the screen faded grey.
Thanks

For that you need to have another div spanning across your page. You can set the opacity of that div as per your need and show and hide it along with the modal pop up.

That's good thanks Abhishek.
The only thing is it appears as a popup as opposed to the modal which isn't so it may get blocked.
Thanks though.

What ???
Have you seen the code...
It is purely created using transparent div. So no popup blocker can block this..
|
|
|

I just clicked on the link to your example and my browser informed me that a popup was blocked. I tried it in IE and Firefox.

Ha ha .. it is nothing related to the page / code. Actually might be some advertisement pops up which is blocked by your popup blocker. The popup comes because I published the demo page in a free web host provider.
Just check the actual page, it has a button Open popup, which will show the popup.

Why are you not using the Ajax Modal Popup? That will take away a lot of pains of yours.

I don't know how to implement that in an XSL file. I am looking at implementing it in my webpage now, I've been trying to avoid it as it's very complex with lots in inheriting between pages, user controls and xsl files.

Hi, I have used the following code successfully on a windows form to create a timed event where a label is displayed to the user, then the event fires for 5 seconds and the label is then updated. Here is the code:
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
label1.Text = "Please wait...";
System.Timers.Timer timer = new System.Timers.Timer();
timer.Interval = 5000;
timer.Elapsed += delegate
{
label1.BeginInvoke((MethodInvoker)delegate
{
label1.Text = "Done";
});
timer.Stop();
};
timer.Start();
}
Is there an equivalent to this in webforms?
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
use JavaScript's window.setTimeout() and window.setInterval()
|
|
|
|
|
Use
setTimeout(invokeMember, 5000)
See this :
http://www.w3schools.com/js/js_timing.asp[^]
If you need to update server, make AJAX call from inside invokeMember ( or whatever your function name is).. otherwise just change the value of the member.
var element = document.getElementById('label1');
element.value = 'done';
cheers
