Can you provide an example of a calculation which doesn't give the same results?
There are some subtle differences in math between C# and VB which could explain it.

Media player cant be created using Asp.net.
You need to use flash or silverlight or any browser component to build the media player.
Html doesnt have the capability to show video.

Hi..
the response.clear erases html output but doesnot erase any headers. i need to clear whole page.
according to MSDN
The Clear method erases any buffered HTML output. However, the Clear method erases only the response body; it does not erase response headers.
Can anybody provide some assistance on how to clear the header as well...
Thanks
Mark

Hi
I created web project in 2005 and opened in 2008 .
now this error i am getting
Error 27 The type 'System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptServiceAttribute' exists in both
'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\3.5.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll'
and 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\1.0.61025.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll'
How to solve this?
Hi,
take a look in your web.config. All referenced assemblies must be listed there. Remove the entry for the System.Web.Extensions.dll version 1.0.61025.0 and try again.
Let me know if this helps.

VS 2008 has built in support for ajax which was not present in VS 2005 that is why you are facing this error.
Try this
in your Project you have referenced an Assembly with this Version 1.0.61025.0 and you opened your Project VS 2008 and Automatically it added 3.5.0.0 now you need to use one. Remove the old one that targets 2.0 <b>1.0.61025.0</b> and leave the 3.5 one. remove it in the webconfig.

Hi frnds,
I hv a code to get width and height of image in a file. Image is stored in folder and imagename in database.. I'm using asp.net 2.0 and sqlserver 2005.
Dim width,Height as integer
ImgPath = "~/Photos/" & ImgName
Dim fullSizeImg As System.Drawing.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile(ImgPath)
width = fullSizeImg.Width
Height = fullSizeImg.Height
This works only in localhost. But after uploading to server it is not working. Is ther any other method to get the width and height of the image from server..?

The most common problem when something "works locally, but not on the server", is because the path that you are expecting your images to be in either doesn't exist on the server, or you don't have permissions to access it.
Check those first, then get back to us with more details about the error that you are getting.

Sir, Thank you for reply..
There is permission for folder and path is also exist.
Okay, so assuming they exist (and the file also exists), what is the actual error you are receiving?

Sir, This is the error i'm getting..
Security Exception
Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

i think it is giving error for FromFile(str). Whether FromFile() is used only to get path from localhost ?
Plse reply..

I have a app that when ran locally will upload my file to the database but if I try remotely it can't find the file. I am using the fileupload control and streaming it to the database. Is there a permission setting I am missing? This is called from the button_click of a submit button
byte[] ReadFile(string sPath)
{
byte[] data = null;
FileInfo fInfo = new FileInfo(sPath);----THIS IS WHERE IT CANT FIND sPath
long numBytes = fInfo.Length;
FileStream fStream = new FileStream(sPath, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read);
BinaryReader br = new BinaryReader(fStream);
data = br.ReadBytes((int)numBytes);
return data;
}
Check the value in the sPath if it actually exists on the server.
If sPath is the path that FileUpload control has provided, it will obviously not work. Since it is the path of the file on the client computer and this code runs on server.
50-50-90 rule: Anytime I have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability I'll get it wrong...!!

Correct its the path of the client computer. So how do I fix it?
