I have to use Lotus Notes for work email.
I complain about it bitterly all day.
So much in fact that I thought I should list here everything that it does that pisses me off instead of cluttering up the lounge with rants:
1) I clicked on a folder link in an email I was sent, a folder I didn't have access to (which I didn't know at the time).
So what does Potus Scrots do?
Yes that's right!!
It crashed.
I had to REBOOT MY MACHINE to get it started again.
2) Used a 'quick flag' to flag-up an email to remind myself to look into a query I received.
I duly followed up the initial query, and went to remove the 'quick flag'.
What does Potus Scrots do?
Yes that's right!!
It displayed me an error message "Object variable not set".
Tried it again - nothing, no error.
Tried it a third time and it worked.
3) Copied something to the buffer, closed Lotus Notes.
Lotus Notes clears the buffer.
Why?? Why have you cleared the buffer you useless sack of f***ing crap?
It wasn't even Lotus notes specific data, it was just text, JUST PLAIN F***ING TEXT!
4) Why doesn't SHIFT+CLICK work like any other normal application eh?
Why does it put stupid f***ing ticks next to the items, rather then just highlighting the records from the first record I clicked on to the last record I clicked on?
Why?
I know why!
That would be too f***ing simple.
5)Saving an attachment.
Notes will remember where you last saved an attachment.
Great, except that if you want to change the folder by going up to the folder drop down,
it'll forget where it was and start from the 'default' location.
So now I have to re-navigate my way back through the folder strcuture to where I want to be.
Why not have the drop down list start off where the last attachment was saved to?
You already know where it is!
Piece of crap.
6) Oh and whilst we are on the subject of attachments.
If I save a large attachment it takes FOREVER to save.
The only indication of this is a progress bar at the bottom of Notes that is nearly invisible.
I know why they've done this, to try and keep LN repsonding to the users tasks whilst saving the
attachment.
But FFS, it's soo damn near impossible to see, and when I click save I expect
it to be 'saved' - if it isn't why not pop up a message box, or make the progress bar a bit more easier to see so that the user knows what the f*** is going on before they go to the folder and try to open the attachment - which you can't do because Notes is still saving it.
Piece of crap.
7) Tried to print a selection of an email.
Couldn't do it. Is it even possible?
I have no idea, there is no option to just print a selection of an email on the print dialog.
CRAP.
8) Calendar day events.
Due to the fact I work abroad, I am frequently out of the office for periods of time.
If you book a 5 day event and then later on change the beginning date, Potus Scots will change the end date.
FFS, stop pissing about you stinking dirty dogs anus, I've already set the f***ing end date, leave it the f*** alone.
CRAP.
9) Blinking Web links.
Why?
CRAP.

I have to fly to a different county to work [EDIT]Haha, not for much longer! But hey ho, it's still true![/Edit], so I'm in an airport every week. Flying quickly becomes exceedingly boring and tedious after a few weeks. My gripes with airports/the whole flying deelio are:
1) Getting there.
I.E. Cab drivers (mostly as you cannot rely on public transport to get you to the airport on time, plus I have taken a suitcase with me to London to get on a train before and it wasn't much fun) who always bleat on and on about how they aren't really a cab driver and that they actually run a multi-national super company and are really very rich.
Whatever, just shut the f**k up and drive me to the airport driving b*tch.
And no, I don't want to talk to you in detail about what I do as every c**t asks me that and I'm sick of repeating myself, and sick of the replies like "Oh yeah? I programmed my VCR I could do what you're doing..." bollox.
No you couldn't, so just f**k off.
2) Checking in.
What is with it with some people? Can't they understand the checking in process? How hard is it to provide the check-in clerk your passport and your ticket??
Get the f**king thing out ready before you get to the desk - don't fumble about in your bloody handbag looking for it when you get to the desk, don't stand there having a conversation with the desk clerk or another member of your bloody entourage, don't piss about looking for something in your suit case, don't re-organise your luggage contents.
Get there with your passport and tickets in hand, get checked in, and f**k off.
It's not hard.
3) Not enough check-in clerks.
The current airline I fly with (who are actually very good apart from this point) have around 5 flights all leaving within an hour of each other.
They know this, so why the f**k do they never have enough check-in clerks at this 'peak' time. I have to leave my house at 5pm to get an 8:30pm flight, and the airport is only a ~35 minute drive away. If I leave any later than that I WILL be stuck in a queue for the next hour and a half waiting to check in because of idiots (see above).
One time I joined the queue at 6:15pm for an 8:30pm flight and finally got through security at 7:50pm. The rest of the time I was standing up in a queue.
4) Security.
Yes we need it. Yes I wouldn't like it if no-one got searched. Yes yes yes.
But I still hate effectively getting undressed every time I go through.
Belt off, coat off, pockets emptied, big shoes off, no liquids, blah blah blah.
And even though there are about one million signs posted about the place, people STILL don't know what to do when they are faced with the security section.
5) The Lounge.
Yawn.
Because of point 3, if I arrive 2 hours before my flight I stand up in a queue until I get on the plane. If I arrive early I go sailing through and have to sit in a lounge for hours. Great! So I go sit in a pub and read a book.
But trust me, after a few weeks of doing this you'll get pissed off and very very bored.
6) Flying.
Boring.
Sit down in a tiny seat, breathing in other peoples farts, watch a loud and crap safety video, listen to crying babies, get some fat person sitting next to you taking up all the available space and arm rests - try to lean the other way and get a flight attendants (male) arse in your face, try to read a book with the bloody reading light on that points everywhere except where you find it comfortable to read, try to go to sleep but get bashed about from the person behind you rams his knees into your seat to get up for a piss.
Raaaaarrrraaaarrrggghhhhhhhh!!!
God I hate flying.
7) Then through passport control, collect bag, and get another taxi to your 'destination'.
None of it is fun.
Plus you have the added bonus of smelling like a dead cat when you get off a plane - how lovely.
The sooner they invent teleportation the better.

I will preach to anyone that will listen that 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl'[^] is one of the best games ever created.
Unfortunately games are hugely subjective so trying to convince someone that this is actually the case is rather fruitless.
However, if you haven't played it then I highly recommend the following mods:
Oblivion Lost[^] - makes the zone a much more dangerous place
Priboi Story[^] - Totally new storyline, maps altered.
L.U.R.K[^] - similar to one below but the zone is a more dangerous place, added weapons, gloomier plus extras coming in next release
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2009[^] - Brings the graphics to current 2009 standard (This should be used even for a first time play through, it's awesome )
Also I should mention the mod Lost Alpha[^] which will effectively be giving us new and modified maps from an unreleased version of the game!!! Due to hit the web sometime in Q1 Q2 Q3 of 2010 TBD!. Can't wait.
I've had this game since 2007, and am still playing it.
Honestly, now THAT is good value for money!!
