Hi,
I checked the Microsoft Xpe Target Designer and I believe you need to include the "Net.exe Utility" package and rebuild your image. You should also make sure its dependencies such as "CMD – Windows Command Processor" are also present. Also... the batch file your using is calling ping.exe so this means you will also need to include the "TCP/IP Utilities components".
By the way... it probably would have been better to ask this question in the Mobile Development[^] forum.
Best Wishes,

We have a Windows Server 2008 File Server (Raid-5 NAS) where I'd like to setup a private folder for each user on the domain and provide each with a soft quota of about 2 GB. The quota part is no problem, but is there a way of creating the folders and assigning the respective permissions without actually having to go to the shared folder on the NAS and creating each sub-folder by hand?
TIA

I guess you've solved this already, but...
have you tried using CACLS[^]?
You could create a batch file to loop through all the users.
This[^] came up from Google, which uses vbscript.
To create the user accounts themselves, you can use CSVDE[^]. (I think there was another one too, but forgot its name...)

I have deploy my web application in IIS 7.0 and I get below error

It is possible that a handler mapping is missing. By default, the static file handler processes all content.

Yes, please explain what the problem is so that anyone who has come across it before can offer advice. Just saying that your program is not working will not help anyone to understand what the problem might be.

Have you tried loading an Autorun.inf file on the device? Windows treats USB devices as removable storage, much like a CD, so this might work:
Autorun.inf-
[autorun]
open=Test.cmd
Test.cmd-
ECHO Hello. Did I pass?
If that displays the text, "Hello. Did I pass?" you can create your program on the device and reference the executable in the "open=" clause in the Autorun.inf file. If not, you've lost 2 minutes... I'd try it for you, but I left my jumpdrive in my work PC this weekend.

I have an Acer Aspire One which I have to replace the hard drive because the current one stopped working (hard job, BTW, had to disassemble it completely ).
Now, my question is: because it doesn't have a cd drive, can I just put the drive on another laptop, install windows and put it back on the netbook? Or will I have problems with drivers, etc?
|
|
|
|
|
You'll have problems with drivers as well as the HAL used unpinning Windows.
You'll also have problems with getting the drive to boot because when it goes back in the old system, it will no longer be the second drive in the machine, but the first. The boot information will have been written to your installation machine hard drive, not the drive your replacing.
If you can get a CD/DVD drive in the Aspire, you're MUCH better off.

Hi All,
I added a new user via Active Directory on Server1, then went to Server2 and opened Active Directory but I'm unable to see the new user even after refreshing. Does it take a while for information to be shown throughout the network?
The user can logon to the domain fine but Server2 is our exchange server and we need to set the user up with a email account.
Is there a step I'm missing? Does anyone have any ideas why the user isn't showing in the Active Directory of Server2?
Thanks
Mel

I'd just like to add, we recently moved our mail server from Exchange 2000 to 2007. Would this have any to do with it?
Also Server2 isn't a DC but Server1 is.

I can see from your post below this that you have move to Exchange 2007, what you don't tell me is if you are using Server 2003 or 2008. Either way you could have edited your original post to add the extrra information.
Now to answer your question. With Exchange 2003 (and possibly 2000, but I don't believe I used this, it was still 5.5 way back when and when I got back to Sys Admin it was 2003) it is (or can be) linked in with Active Directory and User account creation. This is gone with Exchange 2007.
When creating the user in AD there is an option to create the mailbox if you are using Exchange 2003. Just check the box and everything is done for you like happens for me at work.
When this is done with Exchange 2008 like at one of my customer sites the option isn't there. When you go to the Exchange server and create a new mailbox there is the option to create a new user or select and existing user. If you click the existing user button/radio button (can't rememer which) it will bring up all AD accounts that don't already have a mailbox associated with it. Make your selection, click OK, select the mail store to use and your good to go.

Thank you for your reply.
It turned out the problem was to do with our primary DC which was running Exchange server 2000, and the C drive was full. We are doing away with this DC and so once I setup the backup DC as the primary DC and remove this old DC the changes were replicated, which solved the issue.

Yesterday I tried to migrate mail services for a domain from my hosting provider to Google apps. I followed Google's instructions closely, but may have missed something.
I created one CNAME to prove domain ownership, and the five MX records stipulated by Google. The DNS updates did not happen for several hours, until I was forced to go offline. Today I am online again, and now the mail subdomain (mail.domainname.co.za) directs back to an empty web page on my hosting provider, i.e. Default.htm.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hi
One can only help you if you specify your hosting provider.
Also,
1. Refer to the google documentation for the implementation
2. Contact your host for the issue you are facing.

Why is that? I'm not asking how or where to set the DNS entries, but if the MX entries I set are all that is required. Surely the same entries are used on nearly any host?

Dear Friends
Good Day
i have windows 2003 server standard edition and recently i am facing the following error
An unhandled win32 exception has occurred in svchost.exe[1392]
number of errors appears asking for a debugger to debug like Visual studio Just-in-time debugger
after closing the error windows the network service gets stopped and the server is no longer accessibel on the network.
What may be the problem and wat is the solution
regards
Kankeyan

It's impossible to say since you haven't given any kind of error messages. SVCHOST is a hosting process that contains any number of other services running independantly of each other. Look in the event log to any clues to what the error may be.
The number you did supply (1392) is the process ID and will change every time the system starts. You can use the following command to see all of the services hosted by the process ID you have. This may give you some kind of hint as to which service is screwing up.
tasklist /svc /FI "PID eq <procId>"
