Hello,
I just submitted my first code project article using e-mail address submit@codeproject.com with all the goodies bundled in a zip.
I have not received any auto-reply notification that the submission went through / is in process. Should I receive an auto notification when I submit an article to e-mail address submit@codeproject.com ?
Thank you,

A suggestion and a possible bug.
I posted a tip/trick. I entered a list of tags and some of those tags had spaces in them (e.g., "Visual Studio"). Looks like it parsed that tag list with both commas and spaces as delimiters. So, "Visual Studio" got turned into "Visual, Studio". It seems I should probably use "Visual-Studio" for now, but I think that spaces should not be a delimiter. Either that, or you could change the way that tags are entered. For example, you could have a list of TextBoxes on top of each other that the user can type tags into (one tag per TextBox).
Also, one time when I viewed my question, it had these tags:
Tags: Visual-Studio, Visual, Studio, 2005, 2008, IDE
But another time it had only one tag:
Tags: Visual-Studio
And there were no edits to the TT that I could see. And that is assuming, of course, that I wasn't hallucinating.

Let me talk this over with the team.

While posting a tip/trick, I forgot to add some tags and tried to submit the TT. A message was displayed at the top of the page that said "Please revise your tag selection", which is fine. However, there was another box to the right of the screen with the same style as that top message (yellow background, blue border), but it had no text in it.

Thanks. Will add it to the bug list!

This is probably an IE 6 issue, but when I go to Quick Answers, either of View Unanswered or View All, the page shows up with the normal banner and ads and paging controls, but none of the questions are displayed at all. I only noticed this a couple of days ago, but it was displaying up until a week ago.

Hi Chris,
Can you check your filter settings, please?

Thanks Elina. It does appear to be related to filter settings. The page defaults to "Filter (e.g. C++)" and this is when it displays nothing! If I change the filter to just "C++", then it does display a list of unanswered, but obviously only ones with C++ as one of the key words.
If I remove the filter completely and then click on "All Questions", the display reverts back to an empty one and sometimes the filter will display just C++ again or other times it will display the default as above. Sorry if that isn't too clear
Let me know if you'd like me to try some other things, too. Thanks.

Hi Chris,
Happy to hear, it kinda sorted out. But it still does not sounds completely correct to me.
Can you, please, send me a screenshot, when the list is empty. I would like to see the filter setting on that image.
Send it to elina at codeproject, please.
Sincerely,
Elina

I got your screen shots and the source file. Thanks.
This happens on IE 6 only. IE 7 and FF are fine
I am opening the bug, and we will deal with it ASAP.
Will keep you updated. Thanks again for reporting and sorry for inconvenience

Elina

Is there a reason my side menu is now firmly stuck on the top of the content, I know it is possible I did something but I would really like to undo it and can't figure out where the something is.

Which browser?
Have you Ctrl+F5'd?
We've been trying to sort out a specific problem with floating elements and IE6. It's like playing whack-a-mole.

I am using IE6 and FF 3.# at the office, it is definitely environmental as my profile does not affect the home system, it's using Chrome and IE8 and they work fine.
I will try the ctrl F5 on Monday. Sooner or later they will allow us to move off IE6 in the office (I use FF illegally) but I'm not counting on it.

I always thought there was a stutter in C++, now you have proof.
Luc Pattyn [Forum Guidelines] [Why QA sucks] [My Articles]
I only read code that is properly formatted, adding PRE tags is the easiest way to obtain that. [The QA section does it automatically now, I hope we soon get it on regular forums as well]

I don't believe you, you must have downloaded the HTML and modified it yourself then took a screenshot.
Ok, ok, I believe you. It wasn't (just) because you were drunk that you saw it before. Nice find.
Also, "Angel Eyes- The love"... wonder what that is. Hmm...
