I made it
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.20506>aspnet_regiis.exe -sn "W3SVC/1/ROOT/SQLAzureApp"
SQLAzureApp - the virtual path
Thanks

Refer the aspnet_regiis documentation here[^]
At the fag end you will notice this NOTE
From MSDN: Note
The path parameter refers to the root path of the application, not the physical path. For example, W3SVC/1/ROOT/SampleApp1.
The Examples section just below will help you accomplish the task!

I am trying to implement multiple dropdown lists with Access Database.
It is like this- I have a dropdown list which takes data of all users from one column in the database and shows them in the dropdown list. Then based on which user is selected, the dropdown list needs to dynamically change its contents to show the tasks related to that user and from this selection of tasks, another dropdown list needs to dynamically change itself to show the actions for that user, and that particular task.
I have not done much coding here since I have added an access datasource and generated the contents from the database into the 1st list but i am not able to take the output from that list and give it as an input to the second list and so on. I have to do it in C# and this is a web application and I am not able to figure it out.
Any help is appreciated.

Use AJAX drop downlists like Cascading Drop Down Lists it will solve your problem. You dont have to do
much coding also. Google for the samples with Cascading Drop Down Lists.
Let me know you got it or not.

hey abdul, thanks for your reply. I did try googling that all day to find something that i can do on my own and not ask anything for help, i never ask for help unless there is no other way but this time i had to ask for help. i am not supposed to be using AJAX and moreover i have no clue abt AJAX.i thought the solution to my problem looks pretty simple but i dont seem to be able to figure it out.

If there is no restriction to use AJAX then use it. Because these CDDLists are very usefull.Because the next Dropdown will be loaded withoug postback. So it looks like smart navigation. I suggest you to use it. The name AJAX looks very complicated but is very simple.
I could have provided you code sample, but if I give some part of it, u feel difficulty in understanding it. So google for CDDLists samples and understad. It will solve all your problems of postback everytime.

This is not an ASP.NET related question. Please read the forum guidelines and choose the appropriate forum, like Silverlight

Hi All,
I am new for .Net 3.x versions and silverlight. When I have silverlight installed on my machine.
I am getting Silverlight templates in (File->new project) and (File->new web) site also.
What is the difference between these two in .net 3.5.
In earlier versions of .Net, Project was considered as Windows App and Web site was considered as ASP.Net application. But in 3.5 when I open the new project also. It is asking me two options related to ASP.Net only. Why is this so. Whats is the use of it.
Please help me any link is also very much helpfull for me as I have to learn please.
Thanks & Regards,

There sure is a lot of info on how to move information from a table column to a listbox. But nothing, so far, on how to go from a listbox to a table.
I have a master record where I record the primary key of various secondary tables. This is a data base of zoning requirements for various building types. the various tables list legal setbacks, minimum building size, maximum building height, etc. It is a relational database where I can name a building type- store, church, etc.- and get out its requirements.
But I have to get the primary keys of the various tablesinto this master table first before I can get the requirements for a building type out of the data base.
It seems to me the easy way is to have a listbox, or some such thing, display the various choices of heights, acceptable building areas, maximum building heights and then let the data collector make a selection and see the index number written in the proper field on the master record. The listbox or whatever has to show the complete record so the data collector knows what the index number represents.
But I can't find anything that describes how to do this.
Maybe somebody knows where this process is written up already.

What more do you need? You query the database given certain criteria and get a resultset back. That has been very well documented.

Hi,
I 'm populating the images in the listview control from the database.... but now i want to get only broken images from the server(eg images which are not showing, cross box) so my user can fix those images in the server. I want to put a checkbox in the search criteria so either they can see all the images from the table or only broken images.
Is there any way of doing that from asp.net or with javascript.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

In your ItemDataBound for your ListView somethnig like this should do it:
if(chkShowBroken.Checked)
{
e.Item.Visible = !File.Exists(Server.MapPath(yourImagePath));
}
else
{
e.Item.Visible = File.Exists(Server.MapPath(yourImagePath));
}

Thanks for the reply.
I tried this solution but for me the file will always exist as it's coming from the database but at that time image might have not transfered to the production server. So is there any way to check the size of the image for the "red cross" image (which is a broken image) or it's dimension 28 X 30.
Is there any way to check with javascript and hide the other items with css.
Thanks.

If it hasn't been uploaded yet it won't exist on the hard disk. File.Exists looks for the physical file on the disk. If you are storing the file name in the database that code should still work. If you are storing the actual bytes of the image in a blob in the database then you probably should change your design and start storing on the filesystem instead. If you are getting a red x then the file doesn't exist at the URL you are pointing to.

Fields in the database are ImageID, ImageFileLioaction, ImageFileName. I am passing these value through the sproc like this 'http://www.xyz.com'+ImageFileLocation+ImageFileName eg ('http://www.xyz.com/images/small/abc_small.jpg").
When I view my listview, the images in the production server I can see them but those which are not transfered to the prouction server will show as red X. The listview has near more than 2000 records. So I want the user to see only those rows where image is red x. So they can transfer those images to server through another application.
Is there any other way to solve this problem.

Hi guys,
I have developed a lengthy form, some time end user takes more than an hour to fill in and submit that form to database. All code is inside updatepanel and script manager control this is requirement. so end user is either filling in the form or sitting idle it doesn't make any difference.
I dont want to increase session timeout.
Is there anyway to fire button's submit event after 10 mins to enable the form to submit data automatically if user doesn't click the submit button.
any help would be really appreciated.
thanks
kind regards,

From the description, it has to be one huge form to fill. I hope you have not placed entire thing into a single page.
What you can do is when the user navigates from one page to another, do a partial save so that you don't loose data.
