damn!...seems to be some kind of extension to .net or something like that...(not really enough time to eat the whole information...)
unfortunately,i can't use no extensions for the project itself to work...
gonna keep as a last resort,though...

Hi All,
where is the more fast metod to write a txt file?
Thanks a lot.Alex

This depends upon what you are doing, and where the text is coming from.
In general you'll probably need to look at TextWriter class, or one of the StreamWriter subclasses.Dalek Dave: There are many words that some find offensive, Homosexuality, Alcoholism, Religion, Visual Basic, Manchester United, Butter.

Please reshape that, as I know less then before. And make some example (code), so that we can suggest even faster way if awaible

I need to read a data from a COM port and write this in a file txt.
In COM port I receive a continuos fast flow of data (100 sentences at second). For each sentence, i need to write this sentence and make several calculations. If i disable the write metod, all operate in real time ... but if i write, after a few minutes, the processed sentences is not the real sended to a com port (not work in real time)..Alex

Your reply makes no sense. There are various way of writing to a text file, and you haven't shown what you're using or why you need something faster.

Let me ask a few questions:
1) 100 sentences (how big?)
2) you asked for a fast method of writing to file, and in your explanation you tell us, that after a few minutes the processed data are not written to the COM port? file? where?
3) if you only need to write the file, WHY should it slow down after a few minutes? I´ve written terabytes of data to disk, an it was always fast, even after hours/days ... maybe an error in your writing/calculation logic?

This in no way means that the problem is with writing to the file.
WIthout seeing your code, it's impossible to tell you where it's going wrong.

Nah - write it to WOM! You should never use standby on an elephant. It always crashes when you lift the ears. - Mark Wallace
C/C++ (I dont see a huge difference between them, and the 'benefits' of C++ are questionable, who needs inheritance when you have copy and paste) - fat_boy

While we're ignoring space limitations and volatility, I say write it to CPU registers!

Hello to everyone!
I'm trying to implement selection of outgoing IP address in HttpWebRequest.. I've found this piece of code:
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(uri);
request.ServicePoint.BindIPEndPointDelegate = new BindIPEndPoint(Bind);
static IPEndPoint Bind(ServicePoint servicePoint, IPEndPoint remoteEndPoint, int retryCount) {
IPAddress address = IPAddress.Parse("192.168.1.6");
return new IPEndPoint(address, 8888);
}
Everything is ok but only for the first time. When I create the second HttpWebRequest to the same uri, Bind(...) is not called. Is there any workaround?
Thanks in advance.
== update ==
I have solved it. If anyone is interested, you need to add the code:
request.KeepAlive = false; Die Energie der Welt ist konstant. Die Entropie der Welt strebt einem Maximum zu.

anyone knows how to personalise text to speech. i have a series of recorded voices and i want to incorporate text to speech with it. thanks thanks! cheers!
|
|

The recorded voices will not do you any good. You'd have to create your own phonem library, and I haven't seen anyone do it, nor have I found any examples.
With the voices you have, if they are recordings of specific phrases, a text to speech engine won't do you any good. You'd have to write your own code to string these phrases together, possibly simply by just playing them in the correct order.

yup i did it in a way that i just play sound. but somehow my lecturer says i can do it by speech API which i have no idea what to do. thanks for the reply. )

You can do it in TTS, you just can't use the recorded voice messages you have.
