The same responses(infact by 2 people!) were given over 50 minutes before. How is your response relevant and useful?
|
|

The OP directed the reponse to my post, it is relevant that I respond to it by reiterating my orignal response.
You on the other hand had responded to a post giving the same answer that others had given long before you making it non-relevant and useless.
Grow up!

Use a regex, split the string, there are many ways to do this.

string[] str1 = arr[2].split(':');
string[] str2 = str1[1].split(' ');
textBox1.Text = str2[1];
string[] str3 = str[2].split(',');
textBox2.Text = str3[1];

I'm trying to create a .NET solution and add class libraries to it.
First - in VS2008 I go to File > New > Project > Other Project Types > Visual Studio Solutions > Blank Solution.
Then - after VS2008 creates the blank solution I right click on the solution and select Add > New Project > Visual C# > Class Library.
However, when I add the Class Library to the solution, the solution icon disappears from Solution Explorer (although the solution name is still in the VS2008 title bar).
Why does the solution icon disappear from the Solution Explorer when I attempt to do this?
|
|
|
|
|
From visual studio Go to - > Tools -> Options
Now from options navigate to Projects & Solutions -> General
On the right hand side Check "Always Show Solution"
I think it will show solution always now.

I have a Web Application Where I have created an OCX Control for working with Excel Files.
The OCX Control also connects to the database.
Now I want to know how can I pass the connectionstring to the OCX Control from my web page when the Control is loaded.
Currently I have hard coded the connection string in the control but I want a way to pass it during runtime.
Can anyone please give me some idea on this topic.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

I have a question on Session maintenance if the appliction is spanned on multiple servers. Following is the scenario:
1) The client (the browser) sends a request for the application.
2) Through the load balancer, the request gone to Server1 where a Session is created for User1.
3) Similarly, there will be session created for User2 and User3.
4) Now, the load in Server1 is increased, and a new request from User1 is now diverted to Server2. But the session is created in Server1. So, when the new request goes to Server2 for User1, it returns , say for eg, an error message saying that User doesn't exist.
Any idea how to handle this situation? Any articles would be of great help.
Thanks in advance.
Success is the good fortune that comes from aspiration, desperation, perspiration and inspiration.

You need to use Session mode outproc (either State Server or SQL Server ).
Please read this article,
Exploring Session in ASP.Net[^]
Where I have explained how to use seesion in Load Balancer mode.
Let me know if you have any problem.

Hi guys..
In my web application which is on vb.net framework1.1 VS2003, Im actually populating an HTML table based on the records retrieved from the database.. Now above the Table I have a button on clicking it the table gets exported to Excel.. Heres the issue.. now in my table i display Userid which is for example: 001258, 001259 etc.. while displaying it on the table its fine but while exporting it to excel my userid on the excel sheet gets changed from 001258 to 1258 the issue is all the zeros present at the beginning gets vanished.. The code that i use for exporting the table to Excel is as follows:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BtnExp.Click
'I have stored My dataset 'DS' in Session("app")
DataSetToExcel.Convert(Session("app"), Response)
End Sub
Public Shared Sub Convert(ByVal ds As DataSet, ByVal response As HttpResponse)
response.Clear()
response.Charset = ""
response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"
Dim stringWrite As New System.IO.StringWriter
Dim htmlWrite As New System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite)
Dim dg As New DataGrid
dg.DataSource = ds.Tables(0)
dg.DataBind()
dg.RenderControl(htmlWrite)
response.Write(stringWrite.ToString)
response.End()
End Sub
Do please Advice me reagarding this issue... Mean while im also googling it out..
Thanx in advance...
Tash

There is no issue. Excel sees this as a number and will truncate the leading zeros by default. Change the formatting of the cells in the Excel spreadsheet.

I am using MSChart control in my asp dot net project. but i do not know how to print chart after it display on page.
|
|
|
|
|
Try adding an ImageButton and OnClientClick event you can pop-up print dialogue box using java-script. Just change the ImageUrl to the proper path.
i.e.
<asp:ImageButton ID="cmdPrint" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Images/Icons/printer.png"
ToolTip="Print" Style="text-align: right" OnClientClick="window.print();" />
|
|

But it prints the whole page, i want to print on MSChart chart area

To urgent to warrant a cursory google search?
Found this at the top of the list .NET TWAIN image scanner[^]. It should prove a good start point.
Otherwise there are plenty more examples a short google away.

Hi Gurus
I am new to web programming and I started working with Asp.net 3.5 vwd express edition with ajax tool kit.For about a week now I screened most of articles on use of javascript in asp.net and following is suggested.
1. Use external script file and refer in masterpage and call from content pages by registerclientsciptblock
On Master page it refered as follows"
<script>
2.Place Java script functions in content place holders and refer them by adding attributes to controls. I tried using following function refering it in the clientvalidationfunction
<asp:CustomValidator ID="CustomValidator1" runat="server" ErrorMessage="Enter Loan Account Name" ClientValidationFunction="chkloanac" OnServerValidate="Chk" ControlToValidate"TxtLoanSource" </asp:CustomValidator>
<script type="text/jscript">
function chkloanac(source, arguments)
{
var Bal = document.getElementById("<%=TxtBalDebt.ClientID%>");
var acname = document.getElementById("<%=TxtLoanSource.ClientID%>");
if (Bal.value > 0 && (acname.value == 'NA' || acname.value == ''))
arguments.IsValid = true;
else
arguments.IsValid = false;
}
3.Build script strings and make call from code behind.example
Dim sb As New System.Text.StringBuilder()
sb.Append("")
sb.Append("alert('Save Successful');")
sb.Append("")
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(Me, Me.GetType(), "Alert", sb.ToString(), False)
All my pages are using ajax controls or extenders and i observe the folllowing.
When I use method-1 and try register the code block, the image placed in a panel for controlling collapsable panel do not load.
Method-2 is not working at all I created a function to refer in custom validation control which would not fire
Only mehod-3 is working which again has limitation for using long functions
I request an expert guidence on above subject with known issues and limitations if any.Preferably wih a working example on method-1 or method-2
Thanks in advance
Kris

In method 1 it is unnecessary to use RegisterClientScript in the content pages since the script is already included as part of the master page. Whatever source told you to do it that way was utterly daft.
If the script has been proper;y included then your functions should be available for use.

Thanks Mark let me try calling function directly from script file referenced in masterpage.

Hi,
I noticed since a couple of days that after a AsyncPostBack, the UpdateProgress doesn't disappear. It seems to happen only on IE, in Firefox it closes correctly after the AsyncPostBack.
The updatepanel I am using used to work perfectly till recently, the website is still under development and I don't have a clue what is causing this problem.
Anyone came across a similar problem? Or does anyone can help me finding the problem?.
Thanks
<asp:UpdateProgress ID="Actualizando" runat="server" DynamicLayout="true" DisplayAfter="0">
<ProgressTemplate>
<div id="ajaxLoader">
<div id="boxLoader">
<div id="contentLoader">Cargando...</div>
</div>
