Should read: anything but HTTP accounts (for now at least!) So Exchange is good.

What about Outlook 11? I am an official beta tester for it, but it is not on your list. I should think that you would want that tested as well.

Hi,
that would be great! I didn't bother adding Outlook 11 since not that many people have it. Or course, I'm sure the object model changed quite a bit so testing/developing would be slower and spread over until mid 2003 when Office 11 is released. But if you're interested, hop in!
I'll update the form on my website so people can select 11 as the version they're using...

Hmmm... that's odd. I just tried the form and it worked. If it still doesn't work for you, just send me an email at info@edovia.com and I'll add you to the program. You'll just have to submit your info later...

please download this setup file http://www.joeswammi.com/downloads/setup.exe
Install it and try to work around the way it protects the main application.
I am new to the software protection end of developing and am tired of www.softwrap.com which currently protects and collects money from my users.
I have developed this simple class to help collect and protect my applications but would like to know if it actually works.
After your hacking attempts please post here or send me an email joeswammi@savemall.net and provide any comments you have plus I would like to know the following:
What OS did you try this on?
Did you find the interface pleasing?
Would you like this in your own apps?
Thanks, please read the readme in the install setup also for more info
Have fun
Joe

Heya People,
I'm looking for people to test the new version of the Camel CPU Identifer (v1.6 vs. CodeProjects v1.2). It features a host new stuff such as PCI device identification, supports more CPUs, better CPU identification and speed code.
BIG THING: It now includes benchmarking code for processors i.e. Integer, FP, MMX / MMX+, SSE / SSE MMX / SSE FP / SSE2 and 3DNow / 3DNow+... The problem is I have little experience in coding benchmarking programs and am looking for both testers to see if they work and people to help me produce better algorithms etc...
Next big project: Conversion to a C++ (Non-MFC) ActiveX COM / COM+ control. Think you're up to it. Please tell me how to do this. I've never worked on an ActiveX control before.
Thanks,
Iain

Hey!
I've made a little TCP class library with two (three) classes:
CTcpServer
CTcpClient
(CSocketException)
I want someone that can try it, analyse it, bla bla and tell me if you like this and if I've done a good job for sucha a little library...
Just give me tips to make it better, bug free (if it has any bugs)...
Here is the zip:

Hi all,
My new start-up company gate39MEDIA is looking for ASP.NET developers interested in working on a freelance, or profit sharing basis to work on Japan related web sites for clients, and for in-house use. We currently, own and operate www.japanshoten.com and www.gate39.com an e-commerce site, and web zine on Japan respectively.
I would prefer to work with someone in the Chicago-area, but am open to long-distance collaboration. Also, you'll need some Japanese language ability read/write/speak -- although you do not need to be 100% fluent. At least two years of Japanese is suggested.
I know this is a tough bill to fill, but we're looking to fill a niche market, and have some work that we may be able to go after! Interested parties, please check out the full posting and find out more about us at www.gate39media.com, and then contact Shane.
Many thanks -- yoroshiku onegai shimasu...

We've all seen the various stages of development for a product... alpha, beta, release candidate, release to manufacturer. I'm looking for something that does a good job of explaining EXACTLY what each stage involves. So many times you see people just talk about their software listed as Beta and RTM.
My team is working on a new project and our customer has requested we use this staged development. Anyone have a good reference out there?

1. Alpha "Gosh, something is working, sell it fast!"
2. Beta "Hey, someone found bugs!"
3. Release Candidate "Look at these bugs! Let's fire this stupid programmer!"
4. Ready To Market "Hey, we fired the programmer, we can't fix any bugs!"

"alpha" and "beta" have been so overused that they have lost their meaning. "alpha" is rarely heard anymore. "beta" can mean anything from "don't sneeze or it'll crash" to "almost done, just a few things left to do." So these days anything pre-release is called "beta".
RC = release candidate
RTM = release to manufacturing

I'm using the following, but I'm not quite sure it's a standard:
Alpha: early version, not all functionality, quite unstable
Beta: all functionality (or mostly), still not very stable
RC: in the transition cycle, when the feature set is frozen, stable but still minor bugs
RTM: transition closed, the version is really stable, all documents are up-to-date, support is transfered to 1st line
Hope it helps
Eric
