The tip is excellent, I voted 5. Good content, and a link for more, what else should a tip be?
BTW: the voting pattern is rather remarkable, you've got one of each. And then some fives.

I read that as one point per post, zero times per day.
Or... is it 1 point per post unlimited?

Funnily enough I just worked that out by looking at it, posting, and looking again.
Would it be so hard to put a ∞ in there?

Infinity would be cool. I'll add it to the list.

My latest article is "pending"!?
pending what? what should I do? why is it pending?
I don't recall having seen this before.
and don't tell me to wait. This is an automated web site. I'll wait for a train or a cab, not for a web page to get in the next state.

suggestion: add an hyperlink next to the status field, explaining what it is, what transitions exist, how they get triggered, how they get executed, how long they take, etc, enough to keep people busy while waiting...

Aha. Logging out reveals what might be the problem.
My article suddenly gets replaced by a page stating:
"This article has not yet been approved for publication by our membership. It should be available soon. Please go to the .NET Framework Table of Contents to view the list of available articles in this section."
So it is probably sitting in quarantine (a.k.a. the articles-needing-approval section) waiting for those few golden/platinum boys to have a say. Fact is, for me that list is visible but empty, which is rather strange. Or the whole new rep stuff is still not OK?

I can see that list (and you should be able to as well) with one article in but not yours

Yes, I can see it now, with one article (not mine), and not readable.
Having 5-digit authority isn't sufficient to even read a candidate article?

Like this?
I meant how did you work that out?
I never occcured to me that would work.

Can I get a loan for 1500 author points from somebody? that might be what is required to keep my new article(s) from falling between the cracks of the system.
As it stands now, I'm a silver author with gold ambition, 1500 points short. And my entries are not showing anywhere; not in the regular lists, and not in the "articles-needing-approval" list. They (one so far) just vanish.
Any takers? Sacha? Marc? Nish?
I am willing to negotiate the conditions...

One thing that you can do is get people to vote on your articles. I voted 5 on each one, and not because you're a regular, but because they deserved it. Maybe you just gotta make more noise, like I do.
BTW, the CP Vanity article is absolutely great.
.45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly ----- "Why don't you tie a kerosene-soaked rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up and eat your candy ass..." - Dale Earnhardt, 1997 ----- "The staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - J. Jystad, 2001

Thanks again for the votes. That has seriously upped my author rep and halved my gold gap.
I also changed sigs, not very noisy yet, but getting there. Any way to add sound to them?
