Hi parwej,
thanks for your mail reply..
i tried with that steps and found my self working. though i went to the same site previous itself i was bit concerned to do with out certificate..
any how i tried but was not possible
its explained that i need to add the certificate all over the machines i am using(client).
is that mandatory?
and is it possible to by pass that and can use like asp.net applications?

I believe certificate need to install on all client machine because you are using trusted application deployement. Due to short time I am unable explain everything here. Jus find below link you will got your all query answer.

Thanks, Feel free to post here for further queries, If possible I will give you.

The certificate must be trusted on each computer the application gets deployed to. There are a few ways of going about this:
- Use the certificate that Visual Studio creates with the application.
- Get client computers to trust this certificate by having the users download and install the certificate themselves.
- Get client computers to trust this certificate by creating a Windows Forms program which installs the certificate. The user would then just have to run this program before running the main program. I have gone this route and it works just fine.
- Buy a certificate from a trusted certificate authority (e.g., Thawte). These can be expensive, but using such a certificate requires no extra step by the user (the certificate is already trusted on their computer, because it is signed by the trusted certificate authority).
I know it can be a pain to work with certificates. Good luck.

I've defined a Storyboard, and I want to call it based on data value. But it throws error ::- Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: A Storyboard tree in a Style cannot specify a TargetName. Remove TargetName 'glow'.-::. The same storyboard works fine if I call it through EventTrigger. If I remove TargetName, obviously it doesn't work at all.
My StoryBoard:
<UserControl.Resources>
<Storyboard x:Key="Glow_move">
<PointAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="glow" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Shape.Fill).(LinearGradientBrush.StartPoint)" RepeatBehavior="Forever">
<SplinePointKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="-0.2,0.5"/>
<SplinePointKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:01" Value="0.8,0.5"/>
<SplinePointKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:02" Value="-0.2,0.5"/>
</PointAnimationUsingKeyFrames>
<PointAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="glow" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Shape.Fill).(LinearGradientBrush.EndPoint)" RepeatBehavior="Forever">
<SplinePointKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="0.2,0.5"/>
<SplinePointKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:01" Value="1.2,0.5"/>
<SplinePointKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:02" Value="0.2,0.5"/>
</PointAnimationUsingKeyFrames>
</Storyboard>
</UserControl.Resources>
My DataTrigger, with which it does not work:
<UserControl.Style>
<Style>
<Style.Triggers>
<DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=IsScanning}" Value="True">
<DataTrigger.EnterActions>
<BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource Glow_move}"/>
</DataTrigger.EnterActions>
</DataTrigger>
<DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=IsScanning}" Value="False">
<DataTrigger.EnterActions>
<StopStoryboard BeginStoryboardName="Glow_Move"/>
</DataTrigger.EnterActions>
</DataTrigger>
</Style.Triggers>
</Style>
</UserControl.Style>
My EventTrigger, with which it works fine:
<UserControl.Triggers>
<EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Mouse.MouseUp">
<BeginStoryboard x:Name="Glow_Move" Storyboard="{StaticResource Glow move}"/>
</EventTrigger>
</UserControl.Triggers>
As I am new to WPF, it would be really nice if someone helps for this specific question and case.

}
private string _name;
public string UserName
{
get { return _name; }

Go to debug -> Exceptions and turn on all type of exceptions.
Run your app then - check to see if it throws an error and breaks in your code somewhere.

Hi Abhinav,
Thank you, I have done, but it shows the same.

Check your txtBoxStyle style to make sure whatever static resources you use in there are available.

Hi Abhinav,
Thank for your reply, I have removed(styles) every thing, but the same problem persists, Can you tell me any other idea please? is there any problem with RIA services setup?

I am just doing some testing with RIA services for a new app. Most of the fields have validation so i thought the validation attributes in RIA services would work well.
The app involves taking user input and creating an xml file that validates against an xsd. The xsd specifies regular expressions to validate some of the fields so i thought i could copy them and use them as regularexpression attributes in RIA services but its not working. For example according to the info i was given this regex:
([A-Z0-9\(\)\-/'&]+)|([A-Z0-9\(\)\-/'&][A-Z 0-9\(\)\-/'&]*[A-Z0-9\(\)\-/'&])
should allow upper case alpha and numbers plus some specific characters but when tested it alows either upper or lower case alpha.
any ideas on why its not working or what it actually breaks down to.
Jon

I've a storyboard with key 'Effect'. I want to start/stop it at button clicks. Everything works fine if 'btnStart/btnStop' buttons remain on same xaml code, in which this EventTrigger is. But my StoryBoard and EventTriggers are part of a UserControl and 'btnStart/btnStop' buttons are on Main XAML. So, my question is, what should I write to let WPF know that I mean buttons from Main?
Also, what do I need to write, if I wish to trigger it when a function get called from Main?
<EventTrigger RoutedEvent="ButtonBase.Click" SourceName="btnStart">
<BeginStoryboard x:Name="st_one" Storyboard="{StaticResource Effect}"/>
</EventTrigger>
<EventTrigger RoutedEvent="ButtonBase.Click" SourceName="btnStop">
<StopStoryboard BeginStoryboardName="Glow_Move"/>
</EventTrigger>

How about exposing the on/off as a dependency property in the user-control?

I'm working to lock down our business application which is Silverlight and a WCF data service.
My first attempt really locked down the service...couldn't even get at the wsdl file from VS2008!
I also can't find exactly how to confirm that the windows identity is passed to Silverlight.
What I want: can't run the Silverlight app unless signed on. calls to the wcf service pass the credentials. WCF lets all transactions occur except updates which are locked down to 3 ntlm groups.
I'm not looking for code here. I'm looking for any article here or on the net that gives me a step by step process for doing the lockdown. Most of the stuff I've seen assumes I know what I'm doing ... which I'm not.
Thanks,
Michael

Hello
Can someone point me into the right direct on how to do the following task in WPF?
I want to have a master Panel in a window that changes based on what a user selects from a menu. For example the panel initially shows a welcome screen. After the user select a new form button, the panel is cleared and populated by a form containing multiple controls. The user could then select another menu button and the panel is once again regenerated based on the menu selection.
I know how to do this all within the code behind but I see that as being a messy way of doing it and defeats’ the purpose of WPF. How do I do it so that the panel is being populated from xaml? Does this have something to-do with user controls? And creating a new user control for each panel that will be loaded by the menu?
If you know of any good books or tutorials that have examples like this then please let me know, otherwise any help would be greatly appreciated.

The topic says dynamic loading of pages and I think that solves the problem you have outlined.
Is this simple pattern not solving that problem?
1. Have main window with Frame object
2. Load pages into the Frame, by setting Frame.Source
If not, the question is not probably clear enough.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi
We have a WPF application which runs on kiosk. On idle time (when no customer at kiosk) kiosk will a play flash. There is button at the right bottom of flash. When the user click on that button We need to map/route this button click event to a method in WPF page in which the flash is playing.
Way we have designed forms for playing flash:
First we placed a WebBrowser control inside a "UserControl " which inherits from System.Windows.Forms namespace. In runtime a flash file is assigned to this control and loaded into a "WindowsFormsHost " control placed inside an XAML page
Thanks in Advance

It might be easier if you use the System.Windows.Controls.WebBrowser control.
See the WebBrowserControlSample in the SDK WPF samples, it shows how to interact with the scripts.

I have a WPF Window that at loading time generate a variable number of image with this for cycle :
public Window1()
{
InitializeComponent();
int numPos = 5;
for (int i = 1; i <= numPos; i++)
{
Image imageStatus = new Image();
imageStatus.Name = "Image" + i;
statusGrid.Children.Add(imageStatus);
}
}
Now i need to access at this image from a timer that every 10 seconds change the image.Source Property of every image crested at runtime ..
How Can i do this ?
|
|
|
|
|
i've found a solution , i have an ImageGrid with only Image Created at runtime :
foreach (Image ctrl in imageGrid.Children)
{
if (ctrl.GetType() == typeof(Image))
{
if (((Image)ctrl).Name == "Image1")
((Image)ctrl).Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri("pack://application:,,,/MyApplication/aleroot.png"));
}
}
with this code i change the image source for my Image Created at runtime .
Thanks anyway.

I started looking into WPF recently for the sake of "research" purposes at work, things got a little slow so I thought I'd check it out to keep busy and the old grey matter churning.
Anyway, since I was playing around, I thought why not get the latest VS2010 RC, things were going OK then BAM, BSOD whilst fiddling with the designer. Thought little of it, and dropped down a step to VS2008 (we currently use VS2005/.NET 2.0), things were going OK for about half a day then all of a sudden the designer was failing to load at all, the markup view was fine as was the C#. When left for about half an hour the whole thing would grind to a halt of a sudden and display an out of memory error in the designer.
It all seemed odd, but it was the end of the day and I left it, came back in today, and out of interest my coworker suggests dragging VS over to the main screen (left) and like a flash, the designer came back to life. Dragged it back over to the right (where I normally like to have VS) and it hung instantly, back to the left and it lives! Unfortunately I did this one too many times and the whole thing BSOD, which then made the VS2010 BSOD make more sense as that's written in WPF.
Anyone run across this problem before? (XP SP3)
Cheers
[EDIT] Now it's happening on the left screen after fiddling with the designer for a couple of seconds, checked my drivers and they're up to date. [/EDIT]

Ended up just upgrading to Weven at work earlier than planned, seems ok, but obviously not the most ideal solution for everybody
