I just installed Opera 7.0b1, and the dynamic view option is not available for the message boards.

Opera lets you change the user agent string it sends, no? Set it to say that it's IE 5 or 6 and see if the scripting works.

Kinda, but it doesn't always work. Opera still includes 'Opera 6' or 'Opera 7' which is the first thing I check for in my browser capabilities checking.

Opera 7 works a little different to NS6 and IE, and since 0.17% of our readers use it, it's unfortunately not a priority at the moment.

This has happened several times before and I am wondering if it may be caused by the fact that I surf the site form both work and home, and have my logon set to automatic (using cookies I assume).
Could this be messing up things for me?
[EDIT] I posted this here vs. the lounge so that a 'problem' would not appear on the front page of the site. You never know when someone will take a screen shot of the site for a big full page add  [/EDIT]

I think it may be a server-load problem possibly. I've seen it happen but it is rare.

Yep - it's on low priority so during peak times it can stop working for a few minutes

I'm currently developing a PHP guestbook for the website of the school of one of my kids. I know codeproject has some cool smileys. So I was thinking: can I use those smileys for my guestbook or are they copywrighted by someone?

I actually found a jar of Marmite in our local store, though they tastefuly neglect to stock Vegemite. Reading the label confirmed my preconceived notion that the name comes from it's main ingredient, marmot dung.

Hmmm.. have you heard of Bovril or Fray Bentos? They are the beef extract version.

They are a thick blackish, brownish type of substance, which will burn your mouth if you spread it on the bread too thickly. Any feature I like and I think is do-able without impacting on the servers goes into the list. All items are then ranked according to a bunch of criteria (time, cost, benefits, fun factor etc) which is then turned into a single rank. Items are then ranked and implemented accordingly. An items rank changes constantly depending on the wind direction so it's never easy to give a definitive queue placement.
For the record, this suggestion is #18/44 in the 'Suggestions' list. There's also the 'cool new functionality' list (18), the 'Important Stuff To Get Done' list (48 items) and the 'Bug list' (no comment on it's size  )
