No, it's more like, If I see one more post about rep points I'm going to toss my cookies.

What are the point totals? To my mind the following would be the right way:
Vote Points
5 5
4 3
3 1
2 -1
1 -2
However, a user has noted that a vote of 3 gains him -2 points. Is 3 truly the new 1?

that should be explained on the FAQ page, but it isn't. The FAQ only deals with upvoting and downvoting.
In an earlier answer to some question I once stated that 4 and 5 were 'up', 1 and 2 were 'down' (implying 3 was doing nothing rep-wise), and Chris confirmed. It still matches my observations.
I wish each such question in suggs&bugs would lead to an improvement of the documentation, here the FAQ page. That would reduce the number of times we get the same questions asked here, and allow for shorter answers to them too.

But that's obviously not the case, as demonstrated in the associated lounge thread.

I think that observation was not correct. One should not try and observe rep effects on people that are participating in a very recent Lounge thread, too many things are happening at once.

Wel, it looked to me like a vote of 3 results in a points deduction, and I don't understand why that would be the case.

All I know is that the vote's are weighed according to rep points from the voter.
For instance when I vote someone a 5 there rep will go up with 10 points.
I can only imagine how much the reputation will go up when you vote a 5 but it should be a lot more.

A 3-vote is essentially a non-vote. No points are given or taken away from the author.

Then how come in earlier tests a vote of 3 did change the reputation of the receiver.
It was in a forum post tho not on a article (does that make a difference?)

We've simplified it so that there is either up-vote (5,4), down-vote (1,2), or I-can't-decide-vote (3).
If a member gets a vote of 3 and loses rep then we have a bug.

Houston, I think we have a problem.

I knew you got some sort of perverse joy out of being hammered with the inevitable "why are my reputation points whacked out again?" questions.

Hi
Sometimes i'm looking for some solution, and end up bookmarking many articles before start analyzing them.
The problem is that once i chose the one i like the most, i want to delete the other ones from the bookmarks.
But the only way to do it (that i can see) is one by one. And that can be tedious.
My suggestion is... could we have checkboxes to select multiple bookmarks, and commands to apply teh action to all selected.
Thanks

Looks like someone already posted[^] about it 2 years ago. Not sure if these are new usernames and passwords created.

I just posted a comment on an answer in the Quick Answer section, and I noticed that my rep did not change. Shouldn't posting a comment to an answer get a rep point of some kind? Debator maybe? Just wondering.

When a member is using the "email" option to send me an email, I'd like the name of that member to be a hyperlink to their profile.
Right now it says: Message from MemberXYZ <emailaddress @ whatever . com>
I want that MemberXYZ to be a link to their CP profile page. There were too many responses to this thread[^], from many members (some I don't know much, but have possibly contributed a fair bit) but I am having a tough time looking up their profiles and assessing their contributions.
