I'm using Visual Studio 2010 (.NET 3.5), which still has .NET 4.0 installed because I had to uninstall Visual Studio 2010.
When I'm loading this code within Visual Studio 2008, an error is being displayed that seems to be triggered by:
web.config
...
<pages controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion="3.5" clientIDMode="AutoID">

<httpHandlers>

Hi,
I want to show some more information in the LoginName control instead of just the user name. For example, i may want to show the email address or full name in LoginName control. So, I wanted to extend the control and create a new one. But, I dont understand how to retrieve the value of the login name in the code, there is no property such as 'Value'. The only property is closed to the desired one is 'FormatString', but cant understand how to get the value. Can you please give me a guideline.
Regards.

Hello! It isn't difficult to do. You drag Login Control into your page. Click on SmartTag and then choose "Convert to Template". You should get the following html code:
<br />
<asp:Login ID="Login1" runat="server"><br />
<LayoutTemplate><br />
<table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" <br />
style="border-collapse:collapse;"><br />
<tr><br />
<td><br />
<table border="0" cellpadding="0"><br />
<tr><br />
<td align="center" colspan="2"><br />
Log In</td><br />
</tr><br />
<tr><br />
<td align="right"><br />
<asp:Label ID="UserNameLabel" runat="server" AssociatedControlID="UserName">User Name:</asp:Label><br />
</td><br />
<td><br />
<asp:TextBox ID="UserName" runat="server"></asp:TextBox><br />
<asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="UserNameRequired" runat="server" <br />
ControlToValidate="UserName" ErrorMessage="User Name is required." <br />
ToolTip="User Name is required." ValidationGroup="Login1">*</asp:RequiredFieldValidator><br />
</td><br />
</tr><br />
<tr><br />
<td align="right"><br />
<asp:Label ID="PasswordLabel" runat="server" AssociatedControlID="Password">Password:</asp:Label><br />
</td><br />
<td><br />
<asp:TextBox ID="Password" runat="server" TextMode="Password"></asp:TextBox><br />
<asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="PasswordRequired" runat="server" <br />
ControlToValidate="Password" ErrorMessage="Password is required." <br />
ToolTip="Password is required." ValidationGroup="Login1">*</asp:RequiredFieldValidator><br />
</td><br />
</tr><br />
<tr><br />
<td colspan="2"><br />
<asp:CheckBox ID="RememberMe" runat="server" Text="Remember me next time." /><br />
</td><br />
</tr><br />
<tr><br />
<td align="center" colspan="2" style="color:Red;"><br />
<asp:Literal ID="FailureText" runat="server" EnableViewState="False"></asp:Literal><br />
</td><br />
</tr><br />
<tr><br />
<td align="right" colspan="2"><br />
<asp:Button ID="LoginButton" runat="server" CommandName="Login" Text="Log In" <br />
ValidationGroup="Login1" /><br />
</td><br />
</tr><br />
</table><br />
</td><br />
</tr><br />
</table><br />
</LayoutTemplate><br />
</asp:Login><br />

Thanks, actually I did not mean the Login Control, rather, I meant the LoginName control. But anyway, I have solved the problem by developing a new custom control from scratch.

In my crystal report I have a formula field which shows the percentage based upon the the item amount and total amount. If we name it as a "percent" field. I need the some of this "formula field" "percent" in the report footer. When I try to sum this, it is giving me error as "This field cannot be summarized". How can I add the above montioned field to my report footer.
Can anybody please help me in doing that.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with CR, but I'm imagining it can't sum the field because it's formatted? How about adding an invisible duplicate of that field without formatting, would that help?

I have resolved it by adding a shared varibale in the "percent" formula in such a way that in each iteration it keeps on adding then show percent in percent column and shared variable in the percentTotal column.
Thanks for the help. But I am struckup with another question below. Please can anybody answer that. Atleast any query anything is help full.

Hi,
I have just learned ASP.NET Form Authentication where I found that, if the user is not logged in, he/she will be redirected to the Login page by IIS with HTTP Status code 302. Obviously search engine bots will be redirected to the login page with 302 code. So, will Googlebot consider my website full of duplicated contents because of this 302 redirects ? As I cannot override the status code from 302 to 301 for search engines. Form authentication is very common for ASP.NET Developers. So, if my fear is true, then it will sound like, "all asp.net websites are not search engine friendly" !!! Woould anyone please guide me what I can do about it ? Or if there is any reason to fear at all ?

Nah, it kinda recognizes redirects and AFAIK you don't get penalized for it.
Go here[^] and download their guide

You can put the NOINDEX meta tag on your page to prevent indexing the content.
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX">
Without it, I'm afraid Google will be indexing your login page.
Returning 301/302 status doesn't really bother google with regards to page rank, a 301 will only prevent google from spidering your original links in future.
