What are you using to access the XML? How are you storing it?

Assuming you are retrieving this in an XmlDocument, just call DocumentElement.RemoveChild and pass in the node that you are interested in removing (you actually have to retrieve this node using something like XPath for instance).

If you're using .NET 3.5+
XDocument doc = XDocument.Load( "file.xml" );
var authors = ( from n in doc.Descendants( "author" )
select n );
if (authors != null) {
authors.Remove();
doc.Save( "file.xml" );
}

Hi all,
I'm using the WebBrower control in my C# application and I have two problems with it atm:
1. Every time the browser control navigates to a page, the cursor changes to the hourglass cursor briefly. I don't know exactly where inside the browser control I can change the cursor.
2. Every time the browser control navigates to a page, my desktop or an open Windows explorer refreshes. The browser control sits in a form that shows on my desktop all the time yes, so it's an application that is always showing, but why does my desktop refresh? And how to prevent this?
Thanks a lot!

Hi
I made a setup of my project and installed it. Now using another application I want to fetch the version of the application installed. As we can see the version no of installed program in Program and features in control panel.
Thanks in advance.

There might be another (easier way) but perhaps you could check the value of Display Version [or Version in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{YOUR-PRODUCT-CODE} ?

You can use Win32_Product[^]

Hi there,
some of our customers use our applications in a Citrix environment. With digital dictation and speech recognition, we want them to use the "high audio quality" settings.
Is there a way our program (C#, .NET 2.0) can find out the audio settings applied for the present session, thus enabling us to display a warning if quality is too low?
Furthermore, if the settings of the server and the client are different, the lower quality is applied - can a program find out the settings of server and client separately?
Thanks a lot for your helpful suggestions!

This sounds like a Citrix specific question, I suggest you contact the suppliers for product support.

In case that a third party product is really "uncommon", I would agree to your point. But the question is: when is a third party product such specific? If there is a question about interaction with the Windows OS, hardly anybody here would answer: "ask the supplier" (i.e. Microsoft).
In my opinion, also programmatical interaction with Terminal Server environments and virtualisation are quite common topics - both are often found in productive environments - , and should be addressable here in the C# forum.

I'm with Trollslayer on this - you stand a much better chance of a useful answer from Citrix than you do in a general purpose forum such as this.

The two conditions are not the same. In the Microsoft case, they are supplying the framework and OS that you develop on. If you asked a question about Dynamix CRM here, you'd get redirected to the MS site in the same way that you would for any other manufacturer.
This is for your benefit. You are more likely to get specialist knowledge about Citrix from the manufacturers than you are from people here on the forums. Somebody may come along here and have knowledge, but more likely nobody will. In which case you are left without an answer having wasted your time posting the question here in the first place.

Hi!!!
I wanted to know if i cud run file1.cs(without a Main) through a window service. Can i call its object it the service n make it run.
I'm trying but i'm unable to do it.
i added file watcher as a component and its working. but what about my other modules. cant i make them run
|
|
|
|
|
You can't "run" a .cs file. It is simply a formatted text file. The code needs to be compiled into either a dll (class library) or an executable. These can then be accessed by the service.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

see.. i made 3 different files, mailer.cs, kill_proc.cs and index.cs these files work independently. how can i integrate them with the service i have made. these are a important part of my project.
plz guide me thru this process..

Just add them to your service project and build it; what is the difficulty?
It's time for a new signature.

Tell me what i did wrong...
I clicked add class
then created a class, typed the complete code, with out the main which is working alone using main
and then i added the code new mailer();(instance of mailer module) in OnStart()

Add it at the point that you need it, i.e. at the point that you need to send a mail message.
