They fit nicely - thanks Chris

I have tried CTRL+F5 several times and also clearing the browser cache.
#1) There appears to be a very persistent filter when i enter Q&A's e.g. from the menu click 'View Unanswered Questions' appears to always put a 'VB.Net' filter in the filter box. Even after i clear this filter and click search again to display all the unanswered, if i go back at a later time the filter is back.
#2) If i clear the filter and display the full list, and then click on a question that is tagged e.g. c#, the filter is repopulated with 'VB.net'
#3) If i clear the filter (while in a question), and press enter, it tries to vote, but fails and generates an error message, 'There was an error trying to rate this item. Please try again later'
EDIT:
#4) I have also noticed that this also carries through to the Articles Tag Filter

just CTRL+F5'd and also deleted all CP cookies, and it appears to be okay now.
Thanks, it was doing my head in!

I am not sure if this has been reported before, but just in case.
I was just replying to a post in The Lounge, in Hieroglyphics, but one slipped through.
The system caught the first c**k and the second but allowed the third one through.
The offending phrase:-
c**k bullock canoe c**k c**k cat ibis
So now I am confused, is it the length or the quantity that is causing the problem?

Ancient Egyptians used quite different Hieroglyphics for c*** and rooster, and your sentence made perfect sense as it stands.

Trust Henry to discover such bug!
In fact in "Naughty Naughty Naughty Naughty Naughty Naughty Naughty Naughty Naughty" only the odd words get treated.

I think that some (mostly new) users don't get the Q/A thing.
There are many attempts at conversation by the OP adding answers to the question, rather than adding a comment on an answer. You don't get notification of these.
I would like to suggest a more prominent comment/"clarification request" button. I know there is also a warning on trying to answer your own question, so it's likely that you don't want to prevent users from answering their own.
This came up because I just found a few answers that I had made where the OP asked for additional details but I never saw them and therefore couldn't provide additional help.
Edit: I just had a look-over on the page...perhaps a 'follow question' option would work to solve this as well?
Cheers.

Yeah.. this has been a problem for a while. We have a task to redirect the author to edit their question when they attempt to add an answer. The edit page will have a notice describing what happened - i.e. that we'd like them to improve their question or add a comment rather than a new answer as feedback. They'll also have the option of creating an answer if they actually want to add a "real" answer.
What do you think? Do you have another specific suggestion?

We have a task that involves creating a subscription mechanism that will allow to essentially do this. It's on our plate but not currently one of our higher priorities.

Only to make it more painfully obvious.
For example, if you are the OP perhaps the paradigm should be flipped. Hide the big 'answer' area by default and expand the comment areas on the answers by default.
I think users are doing it because they're clicking the "big" buttons.

Interesting.. I'll bring it up with the team

How do you find the comment system now? Still too subtle?

Ya know, it's hard to tell now! I'm approaching 300 answers (and I've read so much more) and it's become very natural. It's like typing and saying the word Zamboni until it no longer looks or sounds like a real word.
I've noticed little tweaks along the way, and yes, I would probably say that OPs are posting their responses more in the comments rather than answering their own questions...so I think it's definitely gone in the right direction.
Cheers.

What exactly are they now? I'd like to avoid having to do page refreshes and then guess about how much longer to wait when I run into the limits.

It's low enough on the lounge that I've tripped it in normal operation a few times; never mind cheerleadering during a flamewar.

[Note to the Hamsters] increase vote sensitivity during flamewars. [End Note to the Hamsters]
Seriously through, I've come across it many times, I ignore voting when it comes for some time [like 5 minutes]. Usually, it is back to regular scheduled programming when I return.
