Not out of the box. The closest you will get is the ChecklistBox. There are third party controls that do provide this functionality though.

hi guys,
I am using .net 3.5 framework and i am using repeater control in my application.I am using link button to display the records.Displaying 9 records in a page.Show all button is there.When i click on show all button(Result of 250 records) then the page is loading and hanging for some time anf then it is displaying the all records.I know the time taken between the server and the browser.But i need to avoid the hanging of the page and the loading time should be reduced.How to solve this issue.If the page contains 9 products then it is loaded quickly.But if it contains lot of images then it's hanged.
some of my friends told to use the jquery but i have noo idea regarding jquery so can anyone give an solution for this.Till it's breaking my head.
regards,
krish

What fields are being displayed in the repeater? If you are trying to display too much, or there is nesting involved then of course the rendering will be slower.
JQuery, or any Ajax technique, will not reduce the load time, it can help mask it by making an out of band call rather than a postback. However, you would responsible to load the data into the page controls.

This will not help. Special handling is necessary to implement async pages and the page will not be rendered until all threads have completed. The problem is not the database execution but rather the rendering of the data to the page.

Where is the performance issue? Is it the data coming from the server or is it the rendering in the browser? If you are using HTML tables then you are probably introducing large rendering delays. If you use DIV tags and CSS for your layout you will have better rendering times.

Only by giving IP address i can view the page.. but by giving the virtual directory i cannot browse the page in IIS 7.0
Could you please suggest me the remedy

does your iis entry has an application name?
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

Hi,
I have a gridview with some rows.
The below code works fine to export the data in Excel format
protected void btn_Export_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Clear();
Response.Buffer = true;
//Response.Charset = "UTF-8";
Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=schoolsinfo.xls");
Response.Write(filename);
Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding("UTF-8");
Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel";
this.EnableViewState = false;
System.Globalization.CultureInfo myCItrad = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("EN-US", true);
System.IO.StringWriter oStringWriter = new System.IO.StringWriter(myCItrad);
System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter oHtmlTextWriter = new System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(oStringWriter);
grd.RenderControl(oHtmlTextWriter);
Response.Write(oStringWriter.ToString());
}
how to get the filename schoolsinfo.xls to string.
I am getting filename as null.
Please help
Also i need to export the excel file in Zip format.

First, read How to get an answer to your question[^], particularly #7.
What browser and version are you using? If you want a zip then you must compress the file before transporting, the Response object is not going to do it for you.

IF I GIVE Response.ContentType = "application/zip"; THE ZIP FILE IS FORMED,BUT THERE IS NO EXCEL INSIDE IT.

It may be somewhat odd to discuss about older technologies, but it has always been interesting to me to know that about.
Ok, I have the following as my "filename.htx" file:
<TABLE BORDER="1" CELLPADDING="2" WIDTH="100%">
<TBODY>
<%begindetail%>
<TR VALIGN=TOP>
<TD><%LastName%></TD>
<TD><%FirstName%></TD>
<TD><%EMail%></TD>
</TR>
<%enddetail%>
</TBODY>
</TABLE>
And here is my "addto.idc" file:
Datasource:Address_IDC
Template:filename.htx
SQLStatement:INSERT INTO Addresses(LastName, FirstName, EMail) VALUES('%FName%', '%LName%', '%Email%')
It works fine as it inserts data to database, but I need to display all records stored after the above insertion. What can I do?
N.B. SQL Server uses "output inserted" clause to do so but I haven't tested with that. I use Access 2007 as the database.

And how is this related to ASP.NET?

Where should I post that question?
I could also post that in "web development" or "database" section. But the question is also not really related to any of those section above.

Post it in Web development forum since this looks to be a question related to ASP,
There you might get correct answer , here most people have either not worked on ASP or have forgotten it long time back
