Sorry the description for General Forum Message Downvoted is incorrect. It should read similar to the Upvoted message: "The author of a message loses points due to their message being down-voted by another member". Will fix this shortly.
FYI, those two reputation points are both from the perspective of the author. The voter's perspective is Vote General Forum Message Up. There is no counterpart to down-voting here meaning the voter doesn't gain or lose any points for this action.

Wow.
In digging through the code to see what happened I found out we had an overflow. All because, years and years ago, when I thought "think of a really, really big number tha will account for all articles while still being reasonable" I wildly underestimated where the line between "all articles" and "reasonable" was.
Kinda cool, but it does mean this week's newsletter is a bit wobbly. Next week will be all good.

My boss likes to say "Good Problem to have".
For those who did not get it: what it means is, the result far exceeded the expectation.

It's impossible to guess at numbers like that, you always end up getting bitten in one direction or the other

This article[^]'s zip file is zero bytes - a bug or a screw up by the author?
Edit: Seems good now

You should consider to somehow evaluate "vote of 1" of article in pending state. Approving articles takes time especially when you are voting of 1, you have to write a reason. This activity is not evaluated by any reputation points. On the other hand voting of 5 is evaluated by 1 point and nobody has to write anything.
It's just a suggestion.

I 1 voted on a question (to test something, thinking my vote wouldn't be cast) and noticed that I didn't have to give a reason, the box appears but when left unfilled the vote is cast anyway.
Also the layout after voting is somewhat wrong.
The text 'x votes for this question' + the bar and the graphic seem to be to wide to fit.
The graphic is partially displayed after the search box and after the info box. (have a screen if you need it )
Also the text says '3 votes for this question' counting the new vote but the box underneath is says 2 votes.

I have just published this article;
Google Chrome Extension - CodeProject Reputation Watcher[^]
But, i accidentally included a zip file which was meant to be for if I had submitted the article via email rather than use the submission wizard.
The file shows up in the Browse Code view. The file name is CPRepChromeExtArticle.zip . could someone delete this file please.
Cheers,

When you edit the article you should see a list of zips on the first page of the edit wizard. That should allow you to delete any files you don't want

Thanks Chris,
all sorted, never been into the Edit before, so didn't know that was there.
During the submission process, there is no way to delete a file though, i saw the file, but couldn't see anyway to remove it.
also
On the Submission wizard page it has statement on the left which states Press Ctrl+D to wrap selection in a Code block.
In Chrome, when i tried this, it creates a bookmark........

I am using online article submission, every time I sumbit the article, it tells me that:
The copy failed due to an IO error on Web22.There is not enough space on the disk.

I have *just* fixed the issue. Turns out a process that's meant to move Very Large File A to location B wasn't running. Should be good now.

Shouldn't that also be triggered when comments are made?

+1
This should also work in 'My Posts' section. In any old thread, if an action taken, it pops up at the top!

Hmmm.. I think we explicitly decided not to do that because we didn't want items being popped up to the top of the list so easily and frequently. But I think that would provide value as well. I'll bring it up with the team and see what they think.

Team agrees. It'll also be triggered when a comment gets updated.
