What does this represent in your ideas.
Do you want a count of all students who scored < 35 in EVERY subject. This is quite a bit more complex and requires more knowledge of your data.
Basically get a distinct list of all student/scores > 35 then get a list of all student/scores who are NOT IN the > 35 list.

We did a program 5 years ago to read a dbf table. The user now updated to Windows 7 and the program now gets this error
err=-2147467259 (80004005) [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function
Connection string=Driver={Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver};SourceType=DBF;SourceDB=E:\\SPEC.DBF;Exclusive=No
It does NOT fail on the development machine which has Visual Studio 6, and Vis Studio 2005 .Net and Vis Studio 2010 are installed.
It did fail on a new Win 7 virtual machine after install the Visual Fox Pro 9 Driver (prior to the VFP driver it was getting a 429 activex failure).
It is not clear what the correct driver is to resolve this.
Can anyone help?

So you need to work out if it is win 7 or the virtual machine. I seem to have heard a number of complaints about drivers and virtual environments.

I think if you install MDAC_TYP 2.8 or earlier may solve your issue.

best thing I could suggest is to post some of the code and we'll give you a head start on its conversion

Hi,
I'm posting sample table script
CREATE TABLE "DEV"."APP_ID"
( "AID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,

PRIMARY KEY ("AID")

TABLESPACE "APPLICATION_DATA" ;
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "DEV"."T_APP_ID"
BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE ON APP_ID
FOR EACH ROW
BEGIN
:new.updated := sysdate;
:new.updated_by := username;
if inserting then
:new.created_by := username;
end if;
END T_APP_ID;
/
ALTER TRIGGER "DEV"."T_APP_ID" ENABLE;
|
|
|
|
|
CREATE TABLE App_ID
(
aid INTEGER PRIMARY KEY NONCLUSTERED,
id_type INTEGER FOREIGN KEY REFERENCES dev.id_type,
created DATETIME DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP NOT NULL,
created_by varchar(30) NOT NULL,
updated DATETIME DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP NOT NULL,
updated_by varchar(30) NOT NULL,
)
drop table app_id
been a bit too long since I've done Oracle to remeber triggers so here an msnd refernce link triggers

so we have to go with manual process if we don't have oracle database.
|
|
|
|
|
Also Oracle offers free versions of their engine for developers - get one. Then get that database with those scripts, and then use a conversion tool as already suggested.

Hello I have been trying to learn c# and accessing ultralite I have found the link here 10 Steps to Creating a Windows Mobile Database Application Using .NET and UltraLite 10[^] Which has helped i got it working but what im trying to figure out is how to add a listbox that is controlled by the combobox. What would happen is I select say tom than the list box displays the address.I cant seem to get anywhere with it my previous coding experience is with html and vbscript.
Any help would be appreciated or if you can point me in the right direction
Thank You
Aaron

Not a database related question, more a C# question.
What you need to do is Handle the TextChanged or ValueChanged event of the ComboBox . In the event handler, populate the ListBox with the required data from your database etc.

if it had data in it then restore from backup.
As barmey as a sack of badgers

You can't per se, the data is gone.
However as Simon said you can restore from the last backup. S??? happens, that's what backups are for.
If this is a production DB on the otherhand, s??? should rarely happen to them, which means an awfull lot of arselicking would be required.
If there are no backups, divert blame to the DBA as s??? happens and that's what backups should be for.
If you are the DBA, and no backups have been performed, and this was the dev environment, copy the production environment to dev.
If you are the DBA, and no backups have been performed, and this was the production environment find the nearest exit and polish your resume.
Good luck!

Sorry I did not see this sooner, so this is too late.
Depending on your disaster recovery model you could do a point in time restore from your backup. This would mean you need full recovery mode, and using the transaction logs.
|
|
|
|
|
If this is production AND you have a backup, you may not want to restore over the top of a production database. you can instead restore to a new database, then add the column allowing nulls, use an update query to put the data back leaving anything in the other columns unchanged. depends on the nature of your data and environment.
