After 10 or more years with Code Project, you haven't learned your lesson yet? Some people just never learn.
Seriously, though, with a group as large as ours, we need some system to regulate the rebels.
OH! Just thought of a feature. You should totally have a "Prison" link prominently displayed in the main menu. Anybody who keeps breaking the rules gets put into prison. They get added to the list of prisoners, where their username and crime are displayed for all to see, and they are unable to participate in the site. Repeat offenses get them tossed into prison for longer. And maybe prisoners get their own forum to bug eachother (you could call that page "Australia"). That's a half joke... it's probably not a good idea. Probably.

Yeah, probably not a good idea. At all. Hmph!

If someone clicks the email link at the bottom of your messages, then it will come through to your email with the subject prefix [CodeProject]

I know that. It's not a reply to any of my posts. It's an invitation from Jeff Hadfield to do a survey, as shown by the full subject line I posted.

If it's a spammer, he's REALLY good at forging mail headers, including routing inside CP. The IP addresses look legit.
Let's see what the hamsters say...

It's legitimate, but we originally had the survey open for only a shirt time. I've opened it up again for those that missed out. The more the merrier! (reclick the link and you'll be able to help us out)

It's my mistake -- I forgot to check the survey duration before I sent out a second round of survey invites last night. This is what I get for trying to squeeze out a bit more late-night productivity! Luckily Chris was up feeding the hamsters at the crack of dawn EST and took care of it. Sorry for the error!

CP has been really slooooooooooooooooow this morning (say the last 3-4 hours), to the point where both my browsers and I gave up. [I would have been really cheesed if I hadn't saved a copy of a post that took 4 shots to send. ] It's better now, but still not its usual zippy self. Other sites are OK (all over the planet) so I don't think it's my end.

3 hours ago we had a database issue which has been resolved. I'm currently working to move a bunch of stuff to a different server so you may see minor weirdness, but most likely you won't notice a thing.
Is the slowness still happening? If it is then it's a separate issue because everything's running nice and fast according to all the current monitoring.

Using IE7:

yep, it is a known feature, and has been reported before; it basically tells you to think and type faster, and use fewer and shorter sentences. I guess the disks are filling up.

I've had it too on Firefox 3.6.9

Just recently or continually?
We have a very, very large background process running that ran that I suspect is the culprit.

Never got it before, and never saw it mentioned here, the preview can also be blank, probably under the same circumstances. I just recently got one after a long composing time.

I myself have not faced this issue yet.

Nope. It happens every day. It just happened to me about 10 minutes ago or so.

Hi Chris, this just happened to me again about 2 minutes ago. I had spent about 15 minutes composing a reply. It definately seems to be something related to how long before starting the reply and submitting it.

I wanted to see this page (it happens to be a T/T page): http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/108316/32-Bit-or-64-bit-OS.aspx[^]
Whenever I enter that URL in a browser (tried FF3.6.9 and Chrome), I get the page as expected; however it immediately then scrolls from the top to "Alternate 2", and the URL bar changes to http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/108316/32-Bit-or-64-bit-OS.aspx#alternate2
This is not what I expect or want.
PS: I also tried IE7 (which I only use when other browsers give me a problem) and that one has a different weirdness; it does not scroll, instead it gives an error dialog stating A run-time error has occured. Line 2325. 'AttControl' is undefined.

Yep, does the same with me on Chrome.
