Ya Thank you. I understood the security problem but the requirement is the following :
Tej said checking username and then password, I hope it makes 2 round trip to verify the username and password.
So that i created a array list and added the username and password in it
And concadinated those two values seperated by comma and stored in a string vriable and passed the string to the DB(For avoiding multiple round trip). It works perfectly for the username and password verfication.
But the requirement is to validate multiple text box in server side, When i go for the same approach for this DB doesn't know Which control holds what value and while returning back am facing control mapping problems.
Please do the needful

See, you have to validate the multiple textboxes, So you have to have some mapping between the textboxes and the data in DB. I didn't get without this mapping how are you validating it( Might be I didn't get your requirement fully).
Just have some data in some pair ( like tb1,tb1data) to map the textbox and data and according validate and populate.

Ya i am facing the problem in mapping the control with its value only.
But do you think what am trying to do is good and will it be secure and efficeint.
Because if i do server side validation it makes round trip as well as security problem as u said.
I need some suggestion regarding my requirment and the approach.

Hi All,
I have a web service whose url contains https (https://tserver.perfectcompliance.com/wsdl.xml). When I try to Web Reference this Web Service, the reference is getting added but I am getting following error "this webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure https connection".
What is this error how can I avoid getting this warning or error message. I want to use this service in my application and I have to write test methods for that Web application as well. Is there any way to get rid of this problem and connect that web service in my application.
And I am getting following errors
"Unable to automatically step into the server. Connecting to the server machine 'tserver.perfectcompliance.com' failed. Invalid access to memory location." - This error at the time of debugging, when my application calls the web service method, I am getting this error.
This is another error message I am getting - The Internet Connection Firewall on the remote machine is not set up to allow remote debugging. For managed or native remote debugging with the default transport, the TCP 135 port must be opened for DCOM traffic, file and printer sharing must be enabled, and Msvsmon.exe must be added to the exceptions list. Opening some IPSEC ports may be necessary as well.
Please help me by giving the advice that what sort of problem it is. I need some ones help pls give me. I am struck here.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Keith,
Can you please help me by looking in to those errors above. You can just tell me in one word also what are things that I should have to test my component which is internally calling my web service. Is this problem because of https in the url. Can you please help.
Thanks in advance.

A quick Google search for this yields this[^].It answers how to fix that question.
indian143 wrote: "Unable to automatically step into the server. Connecting to the server machine 'tserver.perfectcompliance.com' failed. Invalid access to memory location." - This error at the time of debugging, when my application calls the web service method, I am getting this error.
Of course you are getting this error, the service is live on the Internet, so the company has naturally secured it. The last thing they want is for some dev (or worse) coming in and playing with/breaking their system. This also is the reason for your final error.
If you navigate to https://tserver.perfectcompliance.com/wsdl.xml[^] you get the full WSDL, so you can generate the proxy. If you are having problems getting the proxy to communicate with the system, it is a much better idea to contact the company who runs the service, they will be able to provide you with full details as they know their setup better than anyone else (Hopefully ).

I have in my site a div with a back-image and position:absolute, a-index:1 style properties.
I do that because I want to have my site's logo always on the front.
When I run it with internet explorer it goes well and the site looks OK, but when I try Firefox browser, the alignment of the website's control looks like it is totally ruined up.
you can see the web page here: http://avangard.more-web.co.il/he/menu/default.aspx[^]
To be sure that the problem is with the logo div, I have deleted it and checked the site and it looked OK.

I tried the link but it didn't work.
One thing a-index:1 should be z-index:1 , I'd check your code if I were you, just in case!

I have been using the charting controls for ASP that are described in this link:
ASP Charting. It works correctly in VS 2008. However, it is not installing in VS 2010, nor is the ASP project running. (The error on installation is "The Toolbox Controls Installer must be installed before running this installer".)
Is this incompatible with 2010? If so, is there an alternative that I am missing (I am still unfamiliar with 2010)..?
Thank you.

what is best, saving images as BLOBS in db or as file on disk, depends on the situation, but I prefer to save it in db, since a)you get a clear connection between the image and data, b)makes things easier to backup, mirror and migrate c) makes it easier to search, sort, and so on, the images.
when it comes to reducing the image size when saving there is some steps you can take:
1) automatic convert the image to a lighter format (eksample: jpg or png) before saving them on the server
2) automatic resize them before saving them to the server
3) re-encode the images with poorer quality but better compression.
If you need to save the images as high quality, high res images in an heavy format like bmp or raw (maybe the spec specifies the quality and size of images or some thing), you could take a look at the System.IO.compression namespace or the zipsharp library.

can anybody provide me the software s which are being updated continuously(their new versions are being launched frequently)but their original documentation got outdated
|

The questionis incomprehensible.
Read the guidelines, stating something is urgent is rude, everyone here is a volunteer.
Also in the guidlines, asking for code / software, without really have a question like "How do start to write software x" or "I've tried to do x but I'm having a problem" will meet with a reply like mine, or something sarcastic.

Oh my goodness - I'll drop everything to help you.
So what you need is me to send you every piece of software currently out in the field and keep providing you with every update that happens for those applications when the documentation is outdated?
Q1. Would it help if I were to write an application to check all published documentation for the software against the current working version of said softyware and then create some update routine to send it to you?
Q2. Would you like me to come over and install all the updates for you so you don't have to do anything at all?
Q3. Would it be possible for you to get some spellchecking software to ensure that your posting is grammatically correct?
Q4. Do you have a boxing glove? If so, the next time you look in your mirror please hit yourself with it for being such an arse.
He took it all too far, but boy could he play guitar!

hi All,
I just wanted to know the following things if u can just help me.
I made a website in Visual Studio 2008 and used the database provided by the VS [I dont know which version is this].
That website runs successfully on the machine having visual studio[As in that i just attach my database through the GUI provided by VS].
Now I want to deploy that website on a LAN. I have the database in .ldf and .mdf format. But I dont know whether it is in sql 2005 or sql 2008[as i made it through Visual Studio GUI]
Now the system in which i have to deploy cannot have a licensed product. So i have to convert that database either to open source or an free version of sql server.
I chose to go for SQL Server express edition that is free. Now the prolem being whether I use SQL Server 2008 or 2005 as i dont know which database was provided by the VS.[when i made that databse]
But the problem being that on the system in which i have to deploy does not contain VS.
Supposing it provides SQL Server 2005 express edition I permormed the following test:-
Now i have installed .NET framework 3.5, MS SQL server 2005 Express Edition and the SQL Server management studio that is a GUI for handling d/b. Now when I attached that database[that i have, of which i dont have the version]. I can see the database and tbles and all the contents that was there in the d/b.[through that management studio GUI].
Now i have deployed my website on IIS also and when i browse my page i can see it on the browser but ....... I am not able to connect to the database tables as when i enter the login and password it comes to the same login page again without showing any error. Now, I cannot identify whether its due to the following reason:-
1> The database that i have is in SQL server 2008 express edition or something else.
2> I have to make some changes in the connectivity[in web.config or some other location]
NOTE: Also when i connected the d/b in management stuio it shows all the tables with dbo as a prefix.
for eg. suppose i had a table as User_Master than its showing as dbo.User_Master.
please guide me if u can. Waiting for ur reply.

Let me Answer your Questions
You wrote :

The only way to Find out is to attach it on an SQL Instance,First try to attach it in an SQL 2005 instance, if its a SQL 2008 then it will give you an error that has something like
"bla bla bla does not belong to ...Family ...."
and if you are able to attach it then it means its 2005
You wrote :

The SQL Express is good for your requirement, i dont think you need to do some conversion, as long as you have SQL Express instance installed on your machine you can just attach your files
You wrote :

You dont need visual Studio , you need to Install the SQL instance. That will have SQL Management studio to attach your Files

if you could do this then its not a 2008 mdf files, you can still confirm by "Right click on your Database and go to properties and select the "Options" and check the Version from there.

Hi vuyiswa,
Thanks for giving so much time i reading this and giving the reply.

Because when i enter hte username and password that there in the database table User_Master[that has been converted to dbo.User_Master] , i cannot loog on to. Inspite it redirects me to the locgin page again.
Also I cannot debug the prog as i dont have VS 2008.
To check this whats happening , i tried one thing:-
On login page [in coding, aspx.cs page], i commented the line which checks whether the username and password is valid or not [ which fetches data from the database] and simply redirected to the Homepage.aspx. It works fine.
On one page [in coding, aspx.cs page], i commented the line which checks whether the session for userlogin is there or not[in login page if the user is authenticated i have saved his username in session and checked this session on everypage , if the session is not null then only user can see that page]. So now when i browse that page through IIS server the page is opening(ofcourse, it will) i enter all the data in the text fields. When i submit the button [which enters the data to the tables] it gives me that dirty yellow page. [as i said earlier i cannot debug the programme without VS or there is any way]

Because if it connects then there is some problem related with database, and if there is some problem with database then i have redirected it to the Error.aspx page.

what is your Question Regarding this ?
As now i am not using the default D/B provided by the VS2008 and using SQL Server 2005 express edition, so are there any changes in the connectin strings or how to attach the database to the websie.[In visual studio we just attach the database through that wizrd and give the path to the connection string.]
Thanks
