You need to code with more than just your mouse.
I actually recommend not using your mouse at all for adding controls to a page. You end up with really poorly named controls. If you add controls by typing them in with source view, you get nice underlining to tell you when something is wrong.

Hello,
in this page I read something about master page;http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wtxbf3hh.aspx
A single master page defines the look and feel and standard behavior that you want for all of the pages (or a group of pages) in your application
As we know, policy page is the same in all the project. as above link, can I create policy page with master page;
Could you please, come one explain more about master page.(a real using of it)
thanks

Yes Master page can be used to go a consistent look and feel to the entire application. One can include thing some application header and footer.So you can have the policy data or Policy page link on footer.
For details about master page have a look to the following link

Master pages are typically used to provide things like the navigation links, the stylesheet and all of the other things that people used to used frames to do. All of the things that should be the same on every page in your site should go in the master page.
Other things you can add to the master page are references to common javascript files and libraries like jQuery, or google analytics. You can use your master page to implement the OnError event so that any unhandled errors on any page can be caught at the top level and logged, redirected etc.

Hello,
Firstly, I am sorry if it is dumb question.as I am practicing, in SQL server 2008 I create a database.then in VS2008, I right click in the node of Server Explorer and add the database to the project.
1) My question is, do I need to add the address in Web.config;
2) Do I have to add the database file in App_Data folder?
thanks for your help, in advance.

Before I forget, using vb 2005 and running IIS on my XP Pro pc...
Ok I'm working on a new intranet site for my company and running into a problem with the calendar. I have some info in a SQL Server 2008 Express database and I'm using that to "list" what days a location is working late. The problem is when going from December to January.
objConnection.OpenConnection()
'sql = "Select * From brewerLate Where month = 10"
sql = "Select * From brewerLate Where (month) = '" & intCurMonth & "'"
da = New SqlDataAdapter(sql, objConnection.cnn)
da.Fill(ds, "brewerLate")
sql = "Select * From portlandLate Where (month) = '" & intCurMonth & "'"
da = New SqlDataAdapter(sql, objConnection.cnn)
da.Fill(ds, "portlandLate")
objConnection.CloseConnection()
'Dim brewer As String = "October 01,October 15,October 29"
brewer = ds.Tables("brewerLate").Rows(0).Item(1)
days = brewer.Split(","c)
For Each strDay In days
If e.Day.Date = strDay Then
e.Cell.Controls.Add(New LiteralControl("<p>Brewer Working!</p>"))
e.Cell.BorderColor = Drawing.Color.Black
e.Cell.BorderWidth = 1
e.Cell.BorderStyle = BorderStyle.Solid
e.Cell.BackColor = Drawing.Color.LightCyan
End If
Next
intCurrentMonth is retreived from the Calendar1_VisibleMonthChanged event and for the initial load (Dim intCurMonth As Integer = Now.Month). All the data in the database is in the same format, the only difference is the month name. I was able to step through the code and it is retreiving the right data, For example strDay would equal January 07 but it will blow right past it.
This is in Calendar1_DayRender, almost forgot to mention that...
Thanks in advance!

You could start by reading the forum guidelines at the top of this list. "New" is not appropriate or informative subject line. Probably why you have been ignored until now.
As for ASP.NET, how did you start with WinForms?
I know the language. I've read a book. - _Madmatt

Sup guys.
I'm 99% sure this is impossible but my boss keeps asking me about it so I've been researching but to no avail. I really need to verify whether it's possible or not so here goes: I have a webservice which returns a LOT of data in a list of a complex object. Is it even possible to have the webservice push returns?
For example: The webservice loops all objects and does something awesome with each. When it finishes with each object it adds it to the final list. How possible is it to push the objects to the front one at a time?
Thanks guys.

I don’t know whether it will solve your purpose but think about a reverse way.
Like suppose you have a large dataset to be returned from webservice. Use a thread in your class to fetch data page by page. Ask your webservice to return the first page. After the first page returned raise a event to your UI to represent the data and then ask your web service to fetch the next data page.
However it all depends your requirement.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I understand what you mean and will try to suggest it
Thanks.

I don't think it's possible through webserice.Connecting through webservice is stateless, ie you can not get multiple response from single request.
So why dont you make multiple request to service ie for every object, there is one request. But obiously this is not good approach.
