No once you open the XML file original, load it into an in memory object, make all the changes, and write out to file, keep making more changes to the internal memory object, and write out the changes when you want to persist to file.

hi,
what is the ms access equivalent code of this.
'written in visual basic.net
Private Sub btnCommon_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCommon.Click, _
btnOK.Click,btnRegister.Click, btnDataTransfer.Click, btnClose.Click
Dim button As Button
button = CType(sender, Button)
'code here
End Sub
Note: there is no Handles in ms access.
i have a small program in access and lots of buttons. i want to hide one button and call all buttons. i dont want to have event in all buttons. that is why i need a code that can call all button. just like above.

AFAIK there's no typecasting in VBA (or VB6 and before).
Sorry
I don't like my signature at all

trying to remember those days
but shouldn't you look at control arrays instead?

IIRC you can't use control arrays in Access VBA - they were confined to VB6.
Vaguely recollect a project where we had to do something similar but can't recall it exactly (was about 1999/2000 ).

How do you get the SaveAs dialogue box to appear in VB.Net. With VB6 was it was the commondialog.
What I want is the SaveAs box to appear and I enter the filename and able to put it into a location.
|
|
|
|
|
Try to use the SaveFileDialog object.

In Excel it is
Application.GetSaveAsFilename and
Application.GetOpenFilename

Hi. I have two tables. Table1(typeid, desc) table2(markid,desc, tyoeid). I want to delete a record from table1 using one query. I am having referential problem. Guide me a little. Thanks

Delete child records first(table2) and then delete the parent record.

I believe you can have a clause on your forgein key which specifies "cascade delete".
Something like this ...
CREATE TABLE test_child <br />
(SUB1 INT, <br />
[NO] int,<br />
FOREIGN KEY ([NO]) REFERENCES Test_parent<br />
ON DELETE CASCADE)

You'll have to rewrite the app to be a web application. If your original app was written with a seperate UI tier, that won't be too difficult. But, if it was written as a monolithic app, you'll have to rewrite the entire thing yourself. There is no conversion tool that will do this for you.

Thanks for the reply.
In the Project Properties, in the Publish tab, their is an option showing Publish Location:
Publishing Folder Location(website,ftp server or filepath).
is it possible to give the location as a website address and create a icon/button in the website to launch the application.
I have no idea on how it works, its just a query...
Thanks.

This will create a web-based installation for your app, NOT run your app as web-based. It will install the application on the computer that the user is on and run it from there.

Hi Friends,
I am reading cells from excel vba and storing in oracle database.
I have a problem here: there are some special characters as well as spanish characters in some of the cells in excel. This is not reading properly and storing properly (means storing the same as it is given in excel cell) in the database.
For Eg: string like : mph-434ĆEĘ needs to be read and stored using Vba.
Kindly help how to read spanish characters from excel using vba and store in db.
Thanks in Advance,
Regards,

Hi.
Can someone explain what does this code mean??When i search for something in that code i see such thing with diffrent methods.
It's really nice of you to explain what does it do?Why we use it?And where we must use this?
Thank you.
<pre>
<b>[DllImport("advapi32.dll", SetLastError = true, PreserveSig = true)]</b>
</pre>

This is the start of a declaration that imports a function from the advapi32.dll. The line is incomplete, so there's no way to tell what the function was.
You use this if you want to call functions that are exported by library .DLL's, and not exposed through a COM interface. For example, you can import FindWindow and GetWindow from user32.dll to get a handle to another applications windows to do almost whatever you want with them.

Thank you,
I don't mean to explain just this line Code
<pre>
[DllImport("advapi32.dll", SetLastError = true, PreserveSig = true)]
</pre>
I mean totally what is Mean?And how to use and when to use???
Explain me like a teacher...
Thank you.

I already did.
I'm not writing up an entire lesson plan for you in a forum post.
I gave you a starting point. This is where you start doing research and teaching yourself. Without that skill, you're not going to last long writing code.
