Warning - I may be barking mad!
In an RTF file I can embed a picture directly in some sort of hex format. Is there anything similar in HTML? I ask because I generate HTML out from a product, and would like to be able to only have one file - wibble.htm - rather than wibble.htm and 10 squillion graphics files.
I know my file would be bigger, but the graphics are only small.
Any suggestions other than increasing the dosage?

You can try encoding it into mime format (email).
That way you can have the images as "hidden" attachments, and the src of the image points to the attached images.

Hi All,
In my application I generate HTML myself from text input. I know I must convert some characters, for example > should be > but does anyone have a list of all characters that must be converted in a similar fashion? I'm aware of <, >, & and space, but would love a full list.
Thanks,

Anyone posted to a perl CGI form? (I'm very new to HTML so the terminology may not be right)
Putting the perameters on the URL doesn't quite work, and i read on the web that perl can also look at stdin for text too. Anyone played with this before?

CGI is written to read from STDIN and write to STDOUT. Nice simple programming
What Internet Explorer makes look so easy, is really quite convoluted. Fortunately later versions include the IXMLHttpRequest interface. Don't worry about the XML in the name. It really is quite easy to use as a "standard" HTTP interface.
I don't have my source code available right now, but if you're interested, I can post a sample later.

I thought so too.
This particular CGI script gives me a internal error, so I figure that there's something wrong with my populating stdin.
The form itself has two input boxes and you choose one or other to populate
The first is a simple textbox (edited highlights):
The second is a textbox and dropdown list:
..
Sedol Code
..
Any suggestions as to what the stdin should contain (pretty please) to populate either form (pref second)?
Thanks.

Found the problem - having trouble setting the stdin buffer up.
Using WriteFile and GetStdHandle in "kernel32 with STD_INPUT_HANDLE = -10

Go to 'Regional Options' or 'Regional Settings' (depending on what flavor of Windows you're running) in control panel. Select the 'Numbers' tab and review the format specifiers. FormatNumber lets you format a number according to the current locale settings. Some countries use commas where others use periods and vice versa.

I'm looking for a tool to convert MSVC RC scripts into HTML, specifically, dialog resources. I have many dialog resources to convert, so I'd rather not do all the work by hand. Any ideas.

Perhaps use FormatNumber() instead of FormatCurrency() and then you can use whatever currency symbol you want before the output of the function...
