Ok, but mention that in your question too. Then use perfect keywords while searching the web.

my question...
have you tried a payment gateway to process credit cards on your website?
I want to do that but most of gateways i have seen force me to use their form but i want to use my own form so use will just see my form and page not anything else.

Well Jrahma,
you can't use your form. Payment systems are there for a reason.
The customers (yes also your customers) trust certain payment providers
and are willing to pay for some service using those providers.
The payment details are withheld from the provider of said service
(in this case you), because the customer does not nescessarily have any
trust in them.
You'll get nobody to reveal any sensitive information on your site.
Stick with what the payment providers offer you, otherwise no one
will be willing to pay for the services you offer.
Cheers
Manfred

is there anyway to limit the width of the <body> to something like 970px so everything inside will be 970 if i set it to 100%?
|
|
|
|

You can set width value for the style property of BODY or you can set in CSS.
Fixed-width body[^]
Look at the View source for the code.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to call some exteral Web Service by using Http Post method from my WCF Service. I didnt use the Http Post method to call a Web Service. Can anybody help me by suggesting some ideas or code or links also fine. I have some xml string in this web service which I need to pass to the Web Service.
Pease help me in this. Thanks in advance.
When I use the following code it is giving me the exception "the remote server returned an error 500 internal server error." It is giving this exception at
" WebResponse response = request.GetResponse();", so please help me in this issue.
private string SubmitCreateNewHireWorkflowStatus(string strStatusXml, string servicePath)
{
WebRequest request = HttpWebRequest.Create("https://staging.xxxx.com/pa/vendorCheckXXXXXXXXXXXXX.do");
request.Method = "POST";
request.ContentLength = strStatusXml.Length;
request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
Stream str = request.GetRequestStream();
System.Text.UTF8Encoding encoding = new System.Text.UTF8Encoding();
byte[] byteStatusXml = encoding.GetBytes(strStatusXml);
string result = "";
str.Write(byteStatusXml, 0, strStatusXml.Length);
str.Flush();
try
{
WebResponse response = request.GetResponse();
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream());
result = reader.ReadToEnd();
}
catch (Exception exception)
{
string strException = exception.Message;
}
return (result == null) ? "" : result;
}

Just so you know, "500 Internal Server Error" is about as vague as "something happened, and it was bad". A 500 is not going to help you much in the way of debugging.
You could try using:
request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=utf-8";
No idea if that will work or not, that's a stab in the dark.
Have you monitored the receiving WebService to see what exception it's throwing? You could be sending malformed data.
If you have something that talks over HTTP to this WebService already that WORKS, you could try watching its requests with Fiddler/WireShark/something similar and compare it to what you're sending.
I dunno man, sorry it's just a bit vague.

Don't worry, just a bit of weekend humour... my problem not yours, but if any of you have any thoughts I would be grateful.
I have an asp.net application (MVC) running in IIS 7. One of the tasks is to allow the user to download a file. This file is created on the fly, compressed to zip file and then provided for download.
In VS development environment this is working without any issues. But on the live server (in IIS) I am getting the error "Access to the path 'blah blah' is denied".
This is happening during the compression process. The initial file is create fine (so the process clearly has write permissions) but when the compression starts, then it cannot access the file to read it
After the error, if I try to manually delete the file, it wont let me (file is in use by another application) so as a test I used the following code to create a file in the same path and still get the problem when trying to manually delete...
System.IO.File.Create("file.txt");
...something is clearly using the file, but what could it be? and why? Any thoughts?
Thanks
EDIT: The locked file eventually becomes unlocked (over 20 minutes)
EDIT: I have used ProcessExplorer to determine that the file is being handled by w3wp.exe - now I need to find out why
EDIT: Just on IIS7 on local development machine and it is working fine. Got to be a settings in live IIS! .. just gotta be (brain pain)

Have you closed the file after creating it?

Thanks for the reply. The test code File.Create should close on its own. Also, for more information on the original file.
It is a .MDF file create with ADO.Net so the file is create within SQL server. I successfully detach the database before attempting read (which works fine on DEV machine).
Another thing that is strange is that as part of my failure cleanup code, I attempt to delete the file which works fine. For clarification....
- Connect to SQL Instance
- Create DB (this create new .mdf and .ldf files)
- Detach DB
- Disconnect from SQL Instance
- Compress file (error here)
- Sucessfully delete .mdf and .ldf files (cleanup)
I am currently looking into IIS caching of files causing locks (hopefully this will lead somewhere but no luck yet)
EDIT: Also, I can stop web app and the file still has a lock so it cannot be the app that still holds onto the file. (Actually now stopping the web application clears the lock!)

I have finally solved my issue. It turns out to be a security permissions problem.
When the .MDF file is creating is it not inheriting the security settings of the folder it resides in. In my case is was getting access to accounts Owner, SQL..., and Administrators but not network service which is that of the application pool attempting to access.
Current fix is to change account of application pool to be an administrator account, this may not be the best solution so I am looking into other ways

I have a page which runs a dynamic sql query, gets the output and show the output in an excel file on the spot. Everything is working fine.
Issue is, whenever, there is no records to show, even the process is completed, the browser seems to be still running. I can see the icon at the top is rounding with the word "Connecting....". I tried use Response.End and Response.Flush. But still the same scenario.
I want to end the process and give a message saying that No records found. Even though message is given,it's not displaying in the label.
Following is my code for export to excel:
private void ExporttoExcel(string xmlPath)
{
HttpResponse response = HttpContext.Current.Response;
response.Clear();
response.Charset = "";
response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel";
DataSet xportdata = new DataSet();
xportdata.ReadXml(xmlPath);
if (xportdata != null)
{
if (xportdata.Tables.Count > 0)
{
if (xportdata.Tables[0].Rows.Count > 0)
{
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter htw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
GridView gv = new GridView();
gv.DataSource = xportdata.Tables[0];
gv.DataBind();
gv.RenderControl(htw);
Response.Write(sw.ToString());
Response.End();
}
else
{
lblErrorMessage.Text = "No Records Found.";
}
}
else
{
lblErrorMessage.Text = "No Records Found.";
Response.Flush();
}
}
}
Am I using something wrong here? Could anybody please help me on this.
Thanks

Hello, we have an internal web app where, we create an "ticket" then save it (it generates a new ticket ID). What I want to be able to do is capture that dynamic id and use it as input to a search box on a separate page.
I need to do this so I can search for that ID and open the ticket in read-only (view) mode in order to validate the values of a couple of fields.
Extracting the ID from the creation page and hoping that gets inputted into the text box on the search page doesn't work because when I bring up the search page while recording, the search textbox is empty. I have to manually put in a value to search for (i.e. ticket id).
I know I could create a coded test from this and pass the dynamic values that way.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can use JavaScript or a CustomValidator. Which method do you want?
