If you like, we can design the interface for you. Save you some time.

Don't you have some catching up to do? I got over 2000 points on you now.

Not really. I'm only bothered about keeping DD down, his habit of posting nonsense just to up his reputation means he has to be bitch slapped down by you and me.

Don't you start. You live on the same continent as John, and he's armed.

I'm honored you think that I'm only just starting.

I did a full spec proposal here[^], it would take care of all current applications and be extensible for future needs. Some people, Chris not the least, had different views though.

AFAIK, feature is already in progress and we hope to see it sometime in future... (no dates though!)

This feature does not exist.

Can I suggest you be careful about making unsubstantiated claims that could amount to libel on a public forum?
(in other words, no, and please no witch hunting)

OK, sorry about that. I did say there is no grounds for deleting him. Only the same date of registration looked suspicious, will be more careful in future.

This "article": Let the world tremble! We've released PVS-Studio 4.00 with a free general-purpose analyzer![^]
It looks like they've put a lot of effort into it, it's well formatted, and interesting... but is it really an article, or a very high quality advert?
(Apologies if this was covered already, I could not see any references here since the 7th)
Cheers,
Iain.
ps, I didn't want to vote it as abuse, as it is very well done - maybe they can be contacted to be a real ad / showcase, not a stealth one.
I am one of "those foreigners coming over here and stealing our jobs". Yay me!

It seems to have been removed already.

I pretty much made the same points to the original author - maybe they've pulled the article and contacted Chris about paying for an advert?
We can but hope!
Iain.

RDL Report Engine[^] (in moderation list)
Ignoring deficiencies, would it be considered an advertisement? Are open-source third party software considered fair game for an article? (assuming this is open source, there seems to be nothing on the Google code page)

It's been removed.

OK, great, but is that "the hamsters killed it" or "the author has removed it"?
(just to be clear, whether articles on genuine open source products are valid)

I removed it and emailed the author.

Yeah, well that part of your job, I don't envy. I can imagine the general reaction.
Author of deleted article:
What? You deleted my beautiful article? It took me two months to write that! I'll have you know, my software is the next best thing after the invention of the computer itself! Why would you do such a cruel thing? Mr XXXX has published articles on XXXX which is also open source, why don't you delete them as well? Visual Studio is a commercial product, why do you allow articles that use it, then? I'll never set foot in this place again, boo hoo!
You've probably got enough to start a new forum for hate mail
