You have been here for six months.
You have asked basically the same question 6 times, getting more abrupt and giving less information each time.
Are you surprised you haven't got a helpful answer?
Try:
1) Asking your question as clearly as you can. I understand that English is not your native language, but you have shown a tolerable grasp of it in previous incarnations of this question. Google Translate may be able to help.
2) Being polite. It goes a long way to getting help.
3) Try to show that you have done something to help yourself. Otherwise you look lazy and demanding. Doesn't help.
4) Think about what you are typing. Would you help someone who acted like that?
Good luck.

I think the title is a bit verbose. Maybe a more succinct approach would be to title the question "QA" and then we could have thousands of posts with a title "QA". Does that make sense to you?

Possibly "FA" to prevent confusion with the QA section?

I was thinking an extension to that could be "Fac" but namespacing is always an issue.

Were you aware that the Kerr Solution for rotating massive objects produces black holes with multiple event horizons?

I can't see that.
Just say 'NO' to evaluated arguments for diadic functions! Ash

That's because all available light is being inexorably sucked into this thread at an alarming rate.

Thank you verry mutch for your help.

When you say "It doesn't work" it's not too helpful.
What code doesn't work?
What error do you get, if any?
What does happen?
What are you expecting to happen?
Where is the "TEMP" directory you are trying to access?
What permissions are applicable, and what are applied?

Take a look at Server.MapPath
Because if you're trying to map to a location on the user's machine, it ain't gonna happen.

I have a stored procedure (MS SQL 2008), that inserts single row to a table and returns id (primary key column, that has identity set) of the inserted row. Id column type is set to BIGINT.
I return the inserted id with the line
RETURN CONVERT(BIGINT, SCOPE_IDENTITY())
to make sure, that it is casted to the type I need.
However, when I retrieve data in application that is calling the procedure, return value is of type Int32, not Int64.
I'm getting the return value this way (only the significant lines):
SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand();<br />
SqlParameter returnVal = new SqlParameter("ReturnValue", null);<br />
returnVal.Direction = ParameterDirection.ReturnValue;<br />
long? temp = ((IDataParameter)command.Parameters["ReturnValue"]).Value as long?;
And, unfortunately, the Value of "ReturnValue" parameter is int, not long, so temp is null...
What am I missing?

I don't think the identity can be nullable. BIGINT is of type long not long?
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah, I know, but I do it this way because I like this way of checking if the value is of given type.
I could do long temp = (long)command.Parameters["ReturnValue"]).Value; , but this will throw exception if "Value" is not long.
So yes, you are right, but that's not the source of my problem. Either way, thanks for your answer. And I'm waiting for more
