Try going to your profile, loading the reputation tab, and then click rep history from there. That often works even when a previously used link may not.

I've forwarded it to the publishing company to see if he's legit, but I'll let you know.
If he's legit, he doesn't reflect well on the company.

I'd appreciate being cc'd. That's impolite at best.

Apparently he's legit, but not a good representative. On the other hand, neither is Ted:
-----
Yes He does work for our company as a Review Editor.
If you need further assistance please do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks

Hi Piebald, I am writing you as a review editor with Manning Publications. I would like to discuss a review of one or more of our manuscripts related to software development with .NET. If you're interested, please send me your email address.
Cheers

Haha, this guy contacted me via CP and a Google search led me here. At least he seems to be doing targetted messages. He contacted me regarding "ASP.NET" rather than "software development with .NET".
This is not the age of reason, this is the age of flummery, and the day of the devious approach. Reason’s gone into the backrooms where it works to devise means by which people can be induced to emote in the desired direction.

He's trying to find book reviewers. He got in touch with me through Codeplex - I had to admire his persistence, he had to create other accounts and follow links to get to me. It looks legitimate.

Legitimate but unacceptable. Harassing members is impolite.

Maybe this has been asked before, but I thought it would be really cool to have a forum, separate from the Lounge / SoapBox / programming forums / etc, where each article in the daily newsletter could have its own thread for discussion. Some people start threads in the Lounge to discuss stories, but it would be cool if they were separate and searchable. I know for most stories a user can post a comment to the original, but I like my fellow CPians, and sometimes don't want to sort through the flood of fanboi and troll comments that end up on the original story's comment threads.
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
