I should make that my sig.
However, this one was particularly awkward because it's release schedule corresponded to me being away on holidays (Sorry, "holidays") and the dev who did the work also being away. We screwed up the UI / experience and we'll fix it. The important thing is that we're recording the data and once we tweak it it will be as good as gold.

No Problem.
It's really a great new feature which honors more the article writer!

It would help if we knew *which* article the download happened on.

The option to not have email sent when a forum post is replied to no longer seems to work. Clearing the checkbox is pointless, as it is not persisted properly (check returns after save). Seems to have become broken a week or two ago...
Note: not the option just below the reply, but the default setting on the personal settings page.

and challenge to Chris's meaning what he says[^]

It's the SoapBox, what do you expect?

What's wrong with that thread (note: I didn't read beyond the OP)?

Ah, US politics. I suppose voting to remove would be the appropriate action.

Not according to Chris.[^] Unless, the goose and the gander don't get the same sauce anymore.

I don't see how that contradicts voting to remove the message.

So ignore the policy and just wait and see if it upsets enough people or you happen to be walking down aisle 4?

I thought the soiapbox was for just such topics. The flame wars is what I thought he didn't want. In any case, how is that thread inappropriate? I only read the first couple of messages in it, but everybody seemed well-behaved.

fat_boy went to great pains to find a thread that used climate change as an example without actually being about climate change. Sure, it's part of his personal vendetta but I'm meant to be on a holiday.
