I took "inspires" in this context to mean "What makes me most want to continue doing this?".
I swithered a bit between cash and seeing people use the product, and came down on cash because that's the most sincere appreciation a business can offer. For a business to pay me money, particularly if it's money not in my basic contract, I must have done something right, and it's been recognised by other people.
I get personal satisfaction out of seeing the product used, but the question was "What reward do you most appreciate?". Having the product used doesn't necesarily equate to any appreciation of my work, so business putting its hand in its pocket is the winner.
