hi, i'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but i was wandering if it is possible to receive the equivalent in cash of the prizes that are given when an award is won.
|
|
|
|
|
Well, I suppose you could just take your prize and sell it on eBay.
|
|
|
|
|
I would very much doubt it.
Prizes are donated my companies and this would be tax deductable within their accounts etc. Cash cannot be treated the same way for various reasons.

What Hans said. Sell it on eBay or Craigslist.

Typically, no. Sorry.

Ooooh, leaving a loophole there.

I still haven't had my MVP Certificate, can I have the cash instead?

Really??
I'll ask Aimee to look into it. They've definitely been sent.

Me neither. There are few more like, 'thatraja', 'Abhinav S' who all have not received it. I posted a thread in GIT asking for the same and came across those names. Few have got it but we are still waiting for the same.

I received it as you know. One thing that made me stunned is that, some people didn't yet receive last year's cert too.

Just send Aimee over to investigate in person. Or Elina, or Lisa, or... you get the picture.

Sean's on his way right now, oiled up and in a Mankini.

Sean must be heading for Newcastle, to take care of the biggest mystery, two missing certificates in succession. I trust you will treat him well.

He'll be lying in a gutter completely s**t faced having had a good time with some of our local beauties. After his visit, he'll be right over to see you.

AspDotNetDev: Why are you holding a shredded MVP certificate behind your back?
Luc: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Sean. Mankini. Body oil. Scented bubble bath. Say no more.

I guess Sean will now be forced to take a month of vacation just to recover from this.

At Luc's?

would that qualify as recovery time? I'd try and get away from myself when I need recovery...

That's the first post in a long time that's made me laugh out loud. I'm talking guffaw level laugh. Oh Sean, if only I could award you 500 for that.

That's fine for you to say, but you try working with someone who takes Casual Friday a little too far.

Yes I do. I think it goes for all MVP's back then, but I got two certificates last year, and was asked to shred one of them; there has been a severe misprint but things got straightened out in the end. I should have kept it around though, so I could just adjust the year...

Yes!!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.
