It failed to run successfully two weeks ago; it did not run (or failed again?) last weekend...
And then there is the bigger question about downloads: being downloaded will be reduced from 5 to 1 point, and historic download logs haven't been processed yet.
We may still be on for a bumpy ride.

I wonder why a change in member's profile won't reflect all places ? I updated my biography long time ago, but my previous biography is still shown in comments, answers, replays ... Every where. Is it a bug or meant to be like this ?

Do you mean your signature (the thing at the bottom of your message)?

Yes, including member's name.

AFAIK it will only show up in messages that are posted after the change has been made.

My question is shouldn't have to be reflected every places ? Is it a bug or meant to be like this ?

It's by design. We had issues where members were changing names to spoof others or erase traces of them using sock puppets/fake names.

I see. But is there any facility for good members who want to have consistent signature including name. For example I was using my actual name Yewondwossen for many years and changed to my shorter name, Wonde. So I want my change to be reflected every where. Can it be happen ? please

You only have 51 posts, so you could just go edit each one and change your sig.

Nish,Thank you for your replay. But still the account name shows my old account name,Yewondwossen C.Tadesse (Wonde) which suppose to be Wonde Tadesse. And there is no way I can able to edit this. Do you have any other suggestion ?

The biography is shown only at the bottom of your articles; AFAIK it is live, so if you change it, the changes will be reflected in all your articles.
The signature is shown at the bottom of your forum messages, however it gets copied and stored together with the message.
The user name is also copied into the message record, however the forum popups do show the current name, not the historic one; I am not sure how it is handled for articles, tips/tricks, and Q&A.

Actually my question was on comments, answers and message replays. In articles, yes it reflects. So is it a bug or meant to be like this? It is quite ugly to see in consistency in these places.

When I reported that an article had a 2-vote without a message, Chris indicated that it may have been because the vote/message were not persisted in an atomic fashion. That seemed unlikely to me, and it has just happened again, this time with a 3-vote. I also happened to me once before and and also happened to S Mewara.
Having noticed these 4 instances of this issue, it seems like more than a fringe occurrence and should probably be considered bona fide bug.

I think I know of at least two ways to vote an article down without creating a message showing I did so, so I did not buy the transactional myth... IIRC I never used any of them (it just takes some logic to figure it out), however if you want me to experiment and confirm, just name your article!
BTW: I'm not the only one, the subject has been hinted at before, also without providing the details.

"myth", eh?
Considering I've been dealing with database issues all week I thing the term "theory" is one I would choose, but as always, Luc, I value your input and if there's an issue you've spotted I will have it corrected this weekend if possible.

I just came across another example. Two votes of 1 and one vote of 3 with none of them having corresponding messages. Though, that article is a bit old, so the requirement to post a message with a vote may not have been in effect for 3-votes at the time.

Hello,
As far as I know, the page where we can add a tip/trick does not have the ability to upload and show images, as it does for articles. So my question is, can i upload the image elsewhere and show them using the tag? It would be helpful if some site administrators could clarify.
EDIT - 1 reason I want to post it as a tip/trick is that it does not have enough content for an article and would just be appropriate for a tip.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Karthik

Previously others have added images to external sources and linked to these in the tip/trick, the site editors/admins will then download local copies of the images and then update the tip/trick.

@DaveAuld - Thanks. Let me go ahead and post it then!

I noticed a few days back that CP started only using the middle of my screen and wasting a fifth on either side with gray background. (Firefox latest version)
Everything feels cramped and smaller now.
Is this a mistake or is this fixed width what is considered "correct" now for websites?

It's a mistake. You aren't suppoesed to be able to log on at all.

Since it can happen to even the most careful, how about another button on the message editing screen that says "Check for repost". This would take the message text and search that forum for posts with that text.
