JQuery is to JavaScript what MFC is to C++, you cannot really learn MFC without knowing a bit of C++, it applies to JQuery as well.

That seems to be a JavaScript error. If your menus are driven by JavaScript, they won't work after a JavaScript error occurs.

Hi Kanna,
you may use setInterval function from JavaScript. This is a start point!
|
|
|
|
|
With help of setTimeout('yourFunction',1000);
function yourFunction{
//your logic here
}

Hi,
How to print only the string using javascript with out pop up.
eg: string = "(table border='1')(tr)(td)Hello Javascript...(/td)(/tr)</table)"
*(replace '(' and ')' with '<' and '>')
I need to print the text string with a table and text "Hello Javascript...". with out pop up
I don't want to print the entire page.
Thankyou,
YPKI

How do you mean print, to a physical printer or to be outputted to the page.
If it is the latter you could use document.write(), trying to output to a printer is a bit more difficult but not impossible. To do this you could create a new iframe dynamically, point it nowhere and start writing to it with document.write(). All that is left then is calling the .print on that frame.

Hi,
you shoud have a new document with your string and then fire the print event.

Give whatever element u wanna print this id "printMe".
Include this script in your head tag:
<script language="javascript">
var gAutoPrint = true;
function processPrint(){
if (document.getElementById != null){
var html = '<HTML>\n<HEAD>\n';
if (document.getElementsByTagName != null){
var headTags = document.getElementsByTagName("head");
if (headTags.length > 0) html += headTags[0].innerHTML;
}
html += '\n</HE' + 'AD>\n<BODY>\n';
var printReadyElem = document.getElementById("printMe");
if (printReadyElem != null) html += printReadyElem.innerHTML;
else{
alert("Error, no contents.");
return;
}
html += '\n</BO' + 'DY>\n</HT' + 'ML>';
var printWin = window.open("","processPrint");
printWin.document.open();
printWin.document.write(html);
printWin.document.close();
if (gAutoPrint) printWin.print();
} else alert("Browser not supported.");
}
</script>
Call the function
<a href="javascript:void(processPrint());">Print</a>

have a search grid and when I select any row and close it the values get mapped to textboxes in aspx form. Issue is evrytime I have a value like ' ab & cd' it gets mapped as ' ab & amp ; cd'
I am finding the value as follows in the click event of tr
$(this).find("td:nth-child(1)").html();
Thanks

Have you tried using the $.text method jquery offers for getting an elements textual content. This might well solve your problem.
$(this).find("td:nth-child(1)").text();

I am working on a message control that looks like this windows message box.
in this control i used code that produce elements at run-time the code below:
var buttonsbar = $get(this.get_element().id + '_buttonsbar');
var okButton = document.createElement('input');
okButton.type = 'button';
okButton.id = this.get_element().id + '_okButton';
okButton.value = this._okbuttontext;
okButton.className = '__mycontrols_button';
okButton.dialogResult = MyControls.DialogResult.OK;
okButton.setAttribute('onclick', 'javascript:$find(\'' + this.get_element().id + '\').AcceptDialog(\'' + okButton.dialogResult + '\');');
buttonsbar.appendChild(okButton);
my problem is when i click the okButton AcceptDialog() is not hit in the compatibility view but it is hit when i turn of the compatibility view;
Help people,so poeple can help you.

Try this:
okButton.onclick = SomeFunction;

Sir;
I took your advice and replaced the line
okButton.setAttribute('onclick', 'javascript:$find(\'' + this.get_element().id + '\').AcceptDialog(\'' + okButton.dialogResult + '\');');
with
okButton.messageboxid = this.get_element().id;
okButton.onclick = function() { $find(this.messageboxid).AcceptDialog(this.dialogResult) };
by setting the onclick event to a reference of type function, but i use it in a new function because i want to pass a parameter to function AcceptDialog and I add messageboxid to the button because I lose context when the button is clicked.
this works great, but is there any way else to do so?
