Surely being dishonest is abusing his priveleges as a member, is it not ?

I agree with you, nuke both accounts of all points! make him start afresh, and delete the sock puppet account.

What is all this obsession with Rep points?
Why on earth does someone care enough to game the system?

Same way as politicians fiddled their expenses.....something for nothing?

Vanity, or possibly an attempt to become an MVP by being seen as a high-rep user.
Of course, I have both a high-rep and an MVPship, so I must be the ultimate in vanity.

You have pretty much all the high level CP stuff, maybe one should create a yoda one just for you, the profile image you have overlaid on a codeproject orange shield would work just fine, and then it could be known as the JediMaster.

Chris / Sean,
Can you explain what's going on here?
In the the Mentors group there is a message (albeit an older one from May); Whats wrong with my article?[^]
Copy and paste his article link (as its not clickable) takes you to the article. Along the top of the article is is marked as; "closed because the object is approved to be publicly available. Reported by......"
So, I click on the members name to take me to his profile, and then click on his Article List (2 Articles) neither of which relate to the article marked as closed and publicly available.
All too confusing if you ask me..............

A bug. I've fixed the issue.
Briefly: a bunch of people had approved, but more had reported to have it closed, and our code to report what had happened looked at the majority report type which was actually "approved" because the reporters had all reported different things, though they all meant "close it!". An easy fix to check for intention of reporting instead of the actual report type.

I reckon they should give you an icon much like you have now, but with the nose coloured in brown.

I know, but I love pulling Slackers leg.
(P.S. Any chance of giving him the icon for one day only? I'm willing to pay )

Fair enough. He can have mine, for a very reasonable sum. I'll tell you how much you owe after you've paid up.

No, he wants that one, I want to buy him the brown nosed one. I'll buy red and white stripes for your shield if your interested?

There are no plans to implement it because it goes against one of the fundamental ideas of this site and that is the sharing of knowledge. Although, by answering a question you appear to be only helping the asker at the time, the fact the exchange is public allows others to gain knowledge simultaneously and in the future. Private messaging serves no purpose.

Yeah it does, I think it allows tactful corrections. Like, "your fly is down" vs "Everyone look, his fly is down."
Translation, I think some people respond to constructive criticism better if not done publicly.
