not sure i understand tho when you say: "include the other project as an additional project in both solutions"
there are only 2 "solutions" ... the website and the desktop app

Move the common classes into a third class library project and then reference that in both current projects.

I am writing a search mechanism in asp.net. User enters the keywords, from the result string, i look for the index of keyword entered by user and showing results onwards. I want my code to look for space character such that i users enters 'ruth' my code gets the index of ruth and showing results. i want it to look for space before keyword so that complete word can be showed e.g 'truth'.
Thanks in Advance

You can use RegularExpresion[^]:
e.g
string MainString="Truth is good";
MatchCollection mc = Regex.Matches(MainString,@"\wruth");
if(mc.Count>0)
{
string result = mc[0].Value;
}
Hope this will help you.

Hello
I am using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express (with C# as code-behind) to develop a website.
I am loading data from the database into a DataTable and then I bind the DataTable to GridView with the following code:
GridView_Report.DataSource = reportsTable;
GridView_Report.DataBind();
The GridView displays the data correctly with all the columns and rows. On the Page I also have a button that will download the data in the GridView to a .csv file.
However there was an error and when I debugged it turns out that the GridView_Report.Columns.Count says that the GridView has 0 columns. How can this be when the GridView actually shows about 15 columns in the browser?
The GridView_Report.Rows.Count is correct with 27 rows.
All help will be appreciated.

From MSDN,
"Automatically generated column fields are not added to the Columns collection."
Try getting the count from the datasource object instead of gridview.
|
|
|
|
|
You can get Columns from DataSource of GridView control.
e.g
int TotalColumns = ((DataTable)GridView_Report.DataSource).Columns.Count;

You can use google API.

This is client side api call and will work for asp as well as asp.net.

Below is some code for an update panel I'm using
<asp:LoginView ID="LoginView" runat="server">
<LoggedInTemplate>
<asp:LoginName ID="name" runat="server" />
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="LoginPanel" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:Label ID="lblClassCode" runat="server" Text="Class Code:" Font-Size="Smaller" Font-Bold="true" visible="false"/>
<asp:TextBox ID="txtClassCode" runat="server" Text="" Font-Size="Smaller" visible="false" />
<asp:Button ID="cmdClassCode" runat="server" Text="Enter" Font-Size="Smaller" OnClick="cmdClassCode_Click" visible="false" />
<asp:Literal ID="lblPrivateClassMessage" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"/>
<asp:ImageButton ID="imgAddToCart" runat="server" OnClick="imgAddToCart_Click" ImageUrl="~/Images/AddToCart.png" Height="40px" Width="119px" Visible="false"/>
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="cmdClassCode" EventName="cmdClassCode_Clicked" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
</LoggedInTemplate>
<AnonymousTemplate>
<asp:Login ID="MemberLogin" runat="server"
Font-Size="10px"
CreateUserText="Create a new user..."
CreateUserUrl="~/Members/Register.aspx"
PasswordRecoveryUrl="~/Members/RecoverPassword.aspx"
UserNameLabelText="E-mail address:" Height="104px"/>
</AnonymousTemplate>
</asp:LoginView>
Now I had to use the OnClick attribute for the cmdClassCode control because it was in the LoginView . When I try to view this page I get the following error message:
Could not find an event named 'cmdClassCode_Clicked' on associated control 'cmdClassCode' for the trigger in UpdatePanel 'LoginPanel'.
I'm assuming this has something to do with the face that I'm using the OnClick attribute instead of a normal handle. Any suggestions on how to get the cmdClassCode button to trigger the update panel?
Thanks in advance.

I want to manipulate data by using Gridview. please tell how can i do this

That's a poorly framed question: you need to be far nmore specific and tell us a) what research have you already done? b) what have you already tried for yourself and c) how did that work out? Then and only then, ask a question related to an issue in YOUR code. Do not ask for complete solutions as the answer is probably going to offend you.
