Looks like that bug-out bag thread is more timely than even I imagined it would be.

Like dead bodies, things sometimes float to the surface if you go mucking about in the mud.
(We're looking into it)
Mr Sergio himself tipped us off: Some of his articles had been deleted many moons ago - possibly drafts or incomplete articles he didn't get a chance to finish. We made a change over the weekend that now allows you to delete permanently, or better still, undelete old, deleted articles, and it was the latter that Bill took advantage of.

While his responses have been childish and he has seemingly shown no intention to put a stop to your "fight", he's a relative newbie/infrequent poster here.
But as a long time member who's well respected here, why did you have to retort with an insuting response? You could have ignored it and moved on to the next post. You are very good Mark, but you could be better than very good if you could try and control your "semi-rude" auto-responses (just my opinion).

Yes, point taken. Electronic communication doesn't convey all meaning and sometimes sarcasm and wit (being generous to myself), isn't perceived by everyone. I am very sarcastic, its a character trait, or flaw depending on your point of view, like many others here, and isn't going to change.

Personally, I love sarcasm. Malayalam, my native language, uses sarcasm to a very high degree, so I naturally transitioned to a similar approach when using English (spoken and written). However it's quite easily misinterpreted on forums, specially when there are non-native speakers present, and so I usually avoid it unelss I am sure everyone understands I am being funny (or trying to be anyway).
Thanks Mark.

Yes sarcasm is one thing but reverting to calling one a pervert and moron is just out of line. Oh well, I've been around long enough to see this type of user come and go. I can wait.

I agree, that is way out of line.

As my friend John Cardinal likes to say, if you want to see less of something on the internet, just ignore it.
Let it go, Mark.

Yes. As I said I have, yet this user has escalated to abusiveness despite that. Now it's time for a third-party to intervene and mediate. We can disagree with each other without being disagreeable and certainly without the abusive language, there is no call for referring to someone as a pervert and moron.

Mark Nischalke wrote: Yes, my fault for the sarcastic response. You never know how others will view responses. However, this user has carried the argument to many other threads with, IMO, increasingly abusive language.
What you see as sarcasm, I see it as insult and what I see as sarcasm, you see it as insult. The message is simple, do not do unto others what you do not want others do unto you.
No third party mediation required. I take back my words and apologize. The argument ends here.

I'll accept it when you post an apology in the other threads, or generally to the Lounge, where you called me pervert and moron and suggested I need psychological evaluation.
We can disagree without being disagreeable, everyone is entitled to an opinion. There was no call for that language or behavior here whether you felt insulted or not.

If that's the worst you have ever been called in your life, you have led a very sheltered existence. Let it go - you'll feel better for it!!
