Might it have something to do with my name.
Because I noticed when I submit an answer in Q&A my name is displayed as André Kraak. After a refresh the name is correctly displayed.

What's unethical about it? The question is perfectly valid for any web-based remote control app.

The media player certainly has access to the file system of the client (otherwise it wouldn't be able to play the media files). What if someone controls the media player and gets access to the client's file system. You can even write code to upload files silently to your server in the background without the user knowing about it.

What you say is true, but one has to keep it all in context. After all, every demo app here on Codeproject has access to the user's file system, when a member downloads and runs it. If what the OP is trying to do has a legitimate purpose, there is really no way to determine if he has a nefarious intent.
I would either pass it by or give it a professional answer.

Agreed. Several years ago I needed to write an application to send keyboard/mouse data to an embedded box that didn't have USB/PS2 input. Half of the application was identical to a keystroke/mouse use logger. The most dramatic difference between it and the equivalent malware was that instead of doing everything possible to hide itself my app blocked the input from reaching the host PC at all, ran fullscreen, and displayed in a giant font "To return control to local computer enter Magic Keystroke Combination". However there was no way for any of the people who pointed me to the information[^] I needed[^] to know that any more than there was for the article authors to prevent what they wrote from also being used maliciously.

Sure, however the entire home automation and remote monitoring industry is a legitimate use of the same kind of technology. If we avoided all technology that has the potential for unethical use we'd be missing out on a lot of really useful things too.

It was bad enough when the cursor kept jumping to the bottom, now it's jumping to the middle! 
Whoever is developing/testing the POS needs to test with a longer, more complex message.

I understand the frustration, and I am myself frustrated that there aren't more hours in the day. I'm not sure how this means being polite is no longer necessary.
Regardless, I spent a few hours Sunday which will hopefully improve the situation.

I voted up a programming forum answer by clicking the 'Good Answer' link and I received 1 point for the voting. However, I found out later that I had already voted up the same answer twice on different occasions and got 2 points already. Now is this really a bug or a recognition of my generosity in voting?

I saw that a few weeks ago too. The paster alters the text to something the poster won't accept. Can't we all just get along?

A long time ago we had an issue with spammers and non-english speakers posting a lot of messages in chinese. The only way to stop the rash - and it stopped it instantly - was to ban unicode characters.
However, I know that encoding has changed, as have times, so I'll remove that check.
