I'd like to report that the article from user named "CS1401"[^] got more than 15 votes in the latest hours, while mine was downvoted several times in the same period.
best regards,
marcelo

I checked this article[^] when it was on the list for approval, and added a message suggesting that the author fix the formatting before it gets published. However, it still got published without the changes so either, a) I am being too strict in my criteria for pre-approval, or b) I am outnumbered by people who think anything in the list that looks vaguely reasonable should be accepted.

How does it look now?

The picture is better, but some of the code snippets could still do with better indentation.

I've spoken with the author and encouraged him to make a few changes here and there (including indentation). Hopefully he'll agree?

Hi Guys,
I have a problem my source code is 22mb (x64) and 70mb (x86) granted this is large but it's face recognition using real time processing and parallelisation so it's bound to be large. Is there any way I can get this source code uploaded or am I stuck asking users to download several little zips and extracting them in the same place? Or using an external file hosting website.
I would love to get this article up and on-line as it's some of my best work any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
Chris

If you have a handy external hosting location we can do that. If not we can find another way. Is there somewhere I can download it from?

Can we use the direct link they provide? We can use sourceforge in that case.

Yes, we can and it is my back up plan however this will redirect the user or open another window/tab to the sourceforge website and this is less than ideal.

Let me see if I can find a home for it.

Hi,
Sorry about the late reply I was away with work. Yes I'm sorry it appears the files did not upload properly I am trying again from work, I'll let you know when I've uploaded them,
Thanks for your help in this matter,

Alright,
I have re uploaded the x64 source as this did not upload correctly and now both source files should download fine and extract,

That's pretty big ... external hosting is definitely the way to go.

Hi,
OK I sorted an external hosting site that will allow hot linking and not delete the files after a period of inactivity. The problem I have now is that in such a case I won't receive any points for downloads. That's 60 odd already and it's only been up 2 hours. I take it I'm in a situation of like it or lump it???
Cheers
Chris

It's true. You won't get reputation, but you will get love and appreciation. Old school. Thanks for your assistance and patience along the way.

I am currently writing an article on an automated/one-click online update class and application.
The article is based on something I use in a larger context - automatically rolling out online updates without using ClickOnce.
I have a couple of questions:
(a)Do you think this will be of interest to people? - I ask this because I am aware that many developers use ClickOnce.
(b)If the answer to (a) is yes - Would someone be willing to look at my article so far and provide me with some feedback (I can pass on the URL of where the article is presently stored).
Thanks

a) Absolutely
b) There should be tons of people. We'll help you as well

Thanks Chris
I shall put some more work into tidying it up and submit it through the template and editor route(I noticed typos and and the article needs some work on it first).
I posted the question as I felt I was re-inventing the wheel - however I now realise sometimes it's a good thing to re-invent the wheel when it comes to software.
