So here I am trying to peek at the traffic going between my PC and my quad. I went to open up Hyperterminal, only to find after much poking around and then actually searching via google, that it is no longer included in Windows7 (or vista apparently).
A bit more searching and came across this ClearTerminal[^]
Works just fine and dandy...........

It's from MS, it's free, and it works in VS when you type
Regex r = new Regex( After that it goes downhill.
It doesn't play nice with the Productivity power tools, the testing is a bit primitive and you need to have an idea what you are trying to type before you start. It also doesn't let you test with the various Regex options which is a PITA if you need to check multiline / singleline and so forth.
It's no Expresso - but it is within VS so you don't need to work with external apps, and it is helpful for simple expressions. Better than trying to remember the arcane syntax of regular expressions!

Lots of you will already know UltraMon[^], a cool util that gives you an extra Windows Taskbar on that other screen. There's also Actual Multiple Monitors[^], a similar tool which has a free version.

I'm trying hard to complete a writing assignment for my Engineering Management class, having fallen behind because of the holiday, and part of this assignment has me stumped:
"Research and report on the difficulties of expatriate workers. Specify a country - perhaps one with which your company does business or in which your company has a branch - and describe the difficulties a worker would have in being assigned there for a two- or three- year stint. What issues might arise personally? Professionally? How would you recommend the company deal with these issues to ameliorate their impact?"
First off, I don't work for a company that has any dealings with foreign countries (unless one counts Mohave County, AZ, USA), and haven't worked with anyone who has worked in a foreign land, so I haven't a clue. I fully expect a number of examples of the difficulty of obtaining booze and loose women in the Middle East from the youngsters in class, but I'd like to put forth a slightly more professional presentation. I know a lot of you from the US have worked in other countries, and I'd appreciate any thoughts you might wish to share.
It would also be interesting to hear from non-US residents about the perils and risks of working in the USA. I know that I was appalled to learn from a girl I went to high school with in 1972 that, when she returned home to South Africa after a year being exposed to undesirable influences, she would be closely watched by the secret police, and never be permitted to work in any sensitive job.
Any thoughts?

Odd choice of forum, Roger.
If it's of any use, I dragged wife and 3 small kids for a 2 year stint in Singapore '83-85. The only paleface in an office of 50-odd, local subsidiary of a US-based company. If you think it's relevant, email me offline and I'll respond at greater length.
Cheers,

Hey Guys,
I'm using window 7, my system is running slow. I've did all those which I know to increase the performance of system but that was not effective. So I want to know; is there any tool to increase my pc performance?
Thanks in advance!!

I'll be watching this space, too!
I recently built a new machine for Win7, filled it with goodies, and as expected it was a speed demon when I fired it up. But over the past month it's been slowing down noticeably, and neither AdAware nor MSE can find anything wrong. Even Solitaire takes a good ten seconds to load now, and it was loading just about as fast as I could release the mouse button. Memory usage is minimal, CPU usage less than 5%, and there's virtually no network activity. I wonder if having a really large HDD is causing delays with the swap file because of the default sector sizes, which I believe still get larger as the total disk size increases.

@Pravesh Singh,
There are lots of factors which plays an important role to increase the system performance such as temporary file, browsing history file, disk clean up, disk fragmentation and many more like that. I am using a tool (MindStick Cleaner) nowadays which helped me lot. It is free tool and you can download it form here…

It might be useful for you.

First, delete everything you do not need. Strip the machine down to bare bones requirements.
Then Defrag.
If Nortons is embedded, virus like, on your system, get rid of it.
Use an unobtrusive anti-virus system.
