No, Actually the 1st line in my message is sarcastic one, Yes I agree with Manfred.

I can't see how anyone would benefit from this: for example, I view many questions I do not answer because the tags are missing, or I didn't read them correctly, and the question is on a subject I am not familiar with. How would it help anyone to know that I viewed your question?

Are you and dr.kitanjal[^] the same person?
The posting behaviour (of solutions) to this question[^] looked odd, one answer deleted under one user account and resubmitted under another user account.
Then looking back at some messages from a couple of weeks back there was activity from around the same time and same sort of daft questions being asked.
I have my suspicions....

Far too wordy. Could you not have summarised that a bit?

Is there any such option by setting which we can get the email notification when a new question added to this portal and also have tag define by user . Like If I set search criteria as "SQL SERVER" then whenever a new question added with this tag then I should get email notification.
Is there any such option in Codeproject ? I know there is one option but that is not triggered when new question added.

I believe you can subscribe to an RSS feed.

It make no sense at all to combine these 2 subject in the same forum. There are mainly 2 separate worlds.

Maybe they should separate forums into "Abandoned MS Technologies" and "Current MS Erection Technologies". Of course, almost everything would end up as a sub-category under the Abandoned group.

There is not enough traffic in each to justify splitting them.

Hey Chris,
In my opinion, that still does not justify combining two unrelated forums. Unless you rename the forum to "Everything else".

For example, If Member A asks Member B to up-vote all Member A's answers, Member A would get more rep points.
Does CP site handles such cases? If so, how?
P.S:
Actually I thought of this while I found one member was featured in top expert in last 24 hrs section (with more than 500pts in last 24hrs), but when I looked into this recent activities like posting answer, messages etc there were no such activity in last 24 hrs. I was wondering then how could that member get 500pts in last 24hrs.
The example above, I would think of, is one possibility.
|
|
|
|
|
Example...
Someone answers 10 questions over 24 hours ago.
The people he answered each accept the answers given, thus 250 points to start with...
A few platinums upvote at 40 points a time and the 500 plus points are gained within the current 24 hours without an answer being given.

Dave, your example is genuine case where top performers get rewarded.
But, my question is, What if Member B intentionally up-votes Member A's few months old 40 answers in 15 minutes? Member A would then easily get 400pts even if Member B is silver.
So, does CP handles such cases?
|
|
|
|
|
You could not say definitively that Member B was in cahoots with A, there is no proof.
There are often unusual voting patterns, but it really shouldn't concern people, points are not converted to money you know!
Why should this bother you so much?
You have been a member for 48 hours, so just enjoy the site.
As for older votes, consider this...
You answer a question, and are rewarded at the time.
Some months later the OP posts back about a particular issue on that answer.
This moves it back to the top of the Q&A list where others see the answer and think it good enough to upvote.
That way it could be 3 months after the answer was given and points are awarded.
Use the site before criticizing the metrics.

I think, 2 months ago...I got a reply(Thanks note with vote) from OP for my answer. But the question(Crystal report) was almost 1 1/2 year old! I have answered that question when I was new to this site.
