To CP or not to CP, that is the question.

I don't expect him to understand everything, nor did I suggest he should. But the basics are not that difficult to figure out.

We really need that sarcasm emoticon.

I can manage sarcasm quite well thanks.

Oh this I know ( you see, I almost know everything ).

Not sure who deleted it but your answer was not helpful. The OP wanted to know about embedding and your link was about authoring components. Two different things.

a) This isn't a bug or a suggestion.
b) This isn't a reasonable request - the site admins don't give this information out.
You have been a member long enough to know this.

He's not reading the replies - or at least he's not listening to them. He has been told variations of this every time he's asked, and he's asked this a lot.

I'd agree with you if this guy hasn't already shown on multiple occasions that he either cannot or chooses not to comprehend what he reads.

I don't know if that necessarily means anything... I made an account a while back ago but never really used it until last year sometime.... and I'm now pretty active in the site.

Agreed, except his main activity is to demand changes to the site and 'corrections' of things he doesn't like.

Not quite all his main actvities. He also demands to know who deleted his questions/answers a lot.

And still hasn't asked himself why it's happening.

Not trying to excuse the OP but the seeming rudeness is mainly due to his English language ability or rather the lack of it. I don't think he intended the demanding tone, just that he could not word it politely which is usually a common trait in non-native speakers.
|
|
|
|

It's not the tone that bothers me, it's the fact that he's been told this same thing several times. I couldn't give a monkeys cuss if his language isn't perfect if this is the first time he's asked this. As he's asked it several times, and been given the same information each time, that's when it gets annoying.

Again, I suspect he does not fully understand your responses. If you go back and read your replies you'll find that you've often used sarcasm and certain idiomatic word usages. In fact I suspect he mistakes you for CP staff, a lot of people think anyone responding in this forum works for CP. Which kinda makes sense since this forum is really for people to ask questions or post suggestions to the staff. It's just that people like you and I can't resist coming and answering stuff here because we know the staff members are usually late to answer.

You mean we don't get paid for this stuff? I wondered why there was nothing extra in my bank account at the end of the month. How am I going to afford to replace my car?

You may be right Nish, but if he doesn't have reasonably good english skills, why do threads like this one[^] exist. I think it is these that are rubbing people the wrong way here.

Well the OP's not aware of his poor language skills, not unlike most native speakers who can speak/write English. I know it sounds weird but English as a foreign language and non-native language quirks are a field of interest for me, so I am not making this stuff up

That may just be the unfortunate reality here and something I did not take into account.

And despite all that I said above, I am not questioning the fact that his attitude needs some polishing up.

Nothing wrong there.
If you click on Improve question, you would see that the "Treat as plain text" option was selected on that question. Just have to remove that and it works.
