Why would voting his message as abuse close his account? I mean, it should only auto-remove that message, right? An admin's single abuse-vote is the same as 5 abuse votes from regular members, but 5 abuse votes from regular members only removes the message and not the account. So that seems to be a bug there to me (or a design flaw). Unless you mean you voted on his profile but that doesn't make sense eitehr since you said you meant to vote a 1 on his message.

Wow, that's a little harsh. So someone makes one post where he offended someone (how hard is it to do that these days), and 5 members mark that post as abuse, and boom - he gets his profile closed? I know it's easily reversed by an admin, but it will annoy the heck out of people - I know I'll be pissed off if it happened to me.

You may want to chat to those in the Spam and Abuse forum who spend an awful lot of time hunting down spammers and then doubling back and hunting down the accounts of the spammers. This way we get them in one go.
Of the 18 messages nuked this year, all were spammers. If the issue of fairness becomes a problem we can easily retune later.

I agree.
I do not feel that what I have read in this thread has cleared up the issues I raised in my original post in The Lounge although it is about exactly the same matter.
At that time I thought that I may have been the victim of a miscreant. This was because my account did not seem to be deactivated and I found that private replies to messages were possible. The email message text was also a bit primitive - like phishing.
It now seems the whole thing is by design.
My account WAS deactivated and then quickly reactivated???
Fine.
If it had not been reactivated then what?
IMHO removing the message if it was offensive should have sufficed.
Just my 2 bobs worth.
BTW - Can admins nuke each other?

I am unable to bookmark an article using the bookmark icon displayed at top of article. I hover the cursor over this icon and the label appears - clicking in this region results in no effect.
The other three icons work as expected when I follow the above steps.

Have found:
1. When I hover the cursor over the bookmark icon the label/tooltip appears. Clicking here has no effect.
2. If I then slide cursor up over the top of this box where just a tiny bit of the bookmark star icon is showing and click on that - bingo a bookmark happens.

Ah - so you were clicking the tooltip, not the item? Interesting.
How do I make this clearer for you?

Yes the tooltip never goes away and almost completely covers the item.
The other icons are the same but clicking on the tooltip initiates the action.
Sometimes the bookmark tooltip does not appear - clicking on the icon then does not work either.

I notice the behaviour has recently changed.
When I move up to the bookmark icon (star) the tooltip drops below the star leaving it completely visible. Clicking on the icon bookmarks - clicking on the tooltip does not.
This resolves the issue I raised.
Of interest and not an issue from my point of view: if I go to next item along - "discuss this article" - then clicking on either the tooltip or the icon initiates the action.

Can I post a small image in my New Tip/Trick ???
Thanks

I could be wrong but I believe you can only post pics in Articles.
I would assume this cuts down on the potential for abuse (i.e. posting pics that violate our Sanitary laws )
