OK. What guides are you talking about??
Member 8768189 wrote: but the code words on First use then Gives me an Error
Still not a clue what you're talking about.
Member 8768189 wrote: so i set the Program to Restart
Since there's no property or method to "restart" an application, we STILL don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Member 8768189 wrote: so as to NOT get the error
You never said WHAT error you got, not what the code looked like, so, uhhhh, yeah, more of the same "we don't have a clue what your talking about"...
Member 8768189 wrote: Im NOT going to Delete that part of Code to NOT get the errors....
WHAT code?? That does WHAT?? Again, you haven't provided us the smallest of clues to figure out what you're talking about...

im sorry to all the people i confused. i was working on that Rehash and Resign Program for days and was annoyed at the one error i kept getting no matter what i did. i figured it out after reading ALOT of microsoft Visual Basic Guides and other Random guides like those and VB Code cook books ... well i used bits of codes here n there from a few different guides and some of my own codes and got my rehash and resign program .
thank you all for being here even when i was stupid about how i worded things and i was not online alot which im also sorry for... its just im stuck with dial-up when i do get online 90% of the time....
the results of my program are great but it can be better. if anyone has made a program similar to mine you might wanna check it out when i post it.
To clear up the title confusion i ment to put "Rehash and Resign Program" and what it does is "Rehash and Resign Xbox 360 game save files" ....
ill post the old code on here later (the code i got stuck on with errors) in case anyone would like to play with it.

Without seeing your code and the data (both sent and received), nobody will be able to guess what is happening. Please see here[^] for hints on writing a question.

Hello again,
I was wondering if you could create another "imaginary" mouse or a second cursor, and make it click somewhere.
Simple Thanks and Regards,

Yes you can use SendInput[^] to simulate mouse operations. Controlling an app with it is quite tricky as many things may change over time: the relative position of Controls on a Form, the reaction speed of an app, etc. You have to program very defensively when using it, so please make sure the right window gets activated before clicking around. And then there are unforeseen situations (client changes screen resolution or default font size, and everything moves around; or he changes the system language and all texts change); and there are unforeseen events, where an app assumes a human user and suddenly throws a warning/error modal dialog at him, which your automation code doesn't expect and doesn't know how to handle.
As a result, it is much better to have an API for the app you want to control; or to programmatically create a document, then open it in Word/WordPad/etc for the user to read, adapt, and process.

Hello,
I am wondering that if you could have 2 executables or programs, one accessing another one's controls, like my Vb.NET program pressing a button on notepad.exe, or menus.
Simple Thanks and Regards,
Brandon T. H.

Yup, that's possible, the collection of those techniques would be called "interprocess communication".
You can take a pick between TCP/IP, (Named) Pipes, SendKeys, Memory mapped files and many more. A good CodeProject-article would be ".NET Remoting in Simple English (Really, it's that simple)[^]".

Those concepts will only work if he has access to both programs' code. If you are trying to control a program you did not create or cannot modify, you will need to use API calls such as "FindWindow"/"FindWindowEx" to locate the window and child control (also considered a "window"). You can use programs like spy++ or winspector spy to figure out the class/caption of the windows and controls. Once you have the handle (intptr) to the control, you can use other API calls to send key presses and/or mouse clicks. You'll have to google those, tho.
Hope that helps!

If you need to build your softphone in VB.NET you might try out the following sample program: www.voip-sip-sdk.com/p_179-windows-forms-softphone-vb-net-voip.html It’s based on an sdk which is written in .Net and therefore insures flexibility including even further developments. I don’t want to advertise just share my good experiences.

You could have submitted a tip (with example code), or posted a link to the SDK in the "free tools" forum.

HI everyone,
I am inquiring on how to use a listbox as a groupbox so I can have inside of it a number of controls such as textbox, combobox,etc.. why is this? I want to be able to able to scroll up and down to fill out all the controls that can be placed inside of this listbox..this may not be in the form of a listbox..I am just thinking aloud on this..the bottom line is that I want a form to look clean with not so much controls on the form with the aid of a listbox or any other type of control with scroll up&down.
this is for vb.net..
Thanks a lot in advance..
Ps..I search the net but I cant seeem to get what I am looking for.

I would consider a scrolling-panel-inside-a-panel approach, rather than a ListBox. This article[^] will show you what I mean, it was done using C# but you could do exactly the same in any .NET language.
