Where will your data come from? How will you match it to the first column?
You could populate the stored procedure according to your needs with a column containing the appropriate data from within the database (where data should be handled) and then bind that to the grid.

It would be better to use datalist to do that. DataList is actually made to handle such scenarios.
Set the datalist Datasource to the datatable containing this data. Set the repeatdirection=vertical . repeatlayout=table and repeatcolumns=2 . Thats it you have what you want.

Better option is to use of Datalist ..Datalist fullfills your requirement without any efforts.

interview question for 5 years experience developer.

What does this mean? If you have a question then please edit the above post and enter the details. If you want to know what interview questions you are likely to be asked for some job, then try a Google search, there are lots of different ones around.
|
|
|
|
|
It depends on individuals who is taking the interview and who is giving it.
Their ability, knowledge-base, need/requirement for the position, etc drives it.
It's suggestible that you prepare what you have done in last 2 years and go ahead. One need to be a little hands on to be strong on a given area.
Still, if you feel like going through questions, Google for it OR look for similar questions asked earlier here: CP Search result[^]

Thanks in advance,

Care to elaborate what does your question means?
I can define 10 columns in my grid and bind all of them to one column of SQL table. Possible and easy, but is that what you want? I doubt.

I would like to know how to modify a sitemap and/or change some C# 2010 code to not allow certain users access to this new web page.
I am basically adding a new web form page to an existing C#.net 2010 application. I am adding some web pages that will be displayed from the main page.
Right now the contractor that setup this application, had 'shells' for the modules that will be added at different points. When the existing web page displays that I am going to add to this website, the page is pointed to a 'mapped url' that displays 'the site is under construction'.
In the web.config file, there is a sitemap that says who access the web page. I tried to give the sitemap a user role that does not exist in the active directory and the web page still displayed.
Thus can you tell me and/or point me to a reference on how to modify the sitemap and/or add some code to the application so only users under a certain role have access this this new web page?

To the best of my knowledge, the sitemap.xml is just a xml file that contains sitemap nodes.
You can't control access to files and folders through it.
You have to write code for each page, to control access.
So let's say you have 5 levels of security
On login, you would add
Context.Session.Add("security", 5)
And in the page, on page.init, your code would say
If Not Context.Session("security") > 3 Then
Context.response.redirect("security.aspx")
End If
|
|
|
|
|
I agree with this.
You cannot control security using xml but you can check variables and then redirect accordingly.
Another option would be to use a database and check the users security level and that will determine what pages they can view.
Kind Regards

We need your help to solve printing issue with Card Printer (Zebra P430i)
Card Printer is directly connected to Server and it is working in LAN.
From the web application we are directly printing to the server as in the sample code provided (By invoking zebra DLL).
Copied the DLL files to system folder.
The printer is working fine from client and server if we are doing test print or running using visual studio.
But not woking through the IIS.
I am getting the following exception from IsPrinterReady()
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
Is there any other method to print the card (printer in client/server) using c# and ASP.net?
Please help us to sort out the issue.
