- TopicStarter did not mention websites
- I don't do websites
- https will be very helpfull if I download all the passwords that are stored in text-format
- security is a broader subject than this

I didn't ask a question.
Hitul Mistry wrote: because you should ask like that how to secure webpage using https encrption i.e. ssl certification with 128bit encryption .
I don't need to ask how to do that. I do however know that if you think doing just that makes your business secure then you are wrong.
Hitul Mistry wrote: then based on what you can doing so see man in security your mind plays because i know security codding i make my own codding see suppose your website have something another venerability like DNN then there is no meaning for any encryption for that your website should be secured.
Not sure what that means except you seem to be agreeing with me in that technology does not make a business secure.

That you already mentioned, and you have been given quite some answers[^].
I'm not going to provide code; you'll have to write it yourself, or find someone who will.

Yes but unfortunately we have no idea what skill level the programmers have who create the web sites that we visit.

..as long as they stick to websites, all is well.

I am trying to update a textbox in my main form, from a thread that I started in the click handler of a button of the form itself .... it keeps sending the exception that I can't do that from a thread other than that which created the control ...
how can it be ? how can I get to update that damn textbox using a different thread ? there' s no other way my program can work .....
|
|
|
|
|
From your thread;
List<SomeClass> MyData;
UpdateGUI(MyData);
In the form;
void UpdateGUI(List<SomeClass> someData)
{
if (InvokeRequired)
{
Invoke(new Action<List<SomeClass>>(UpdateGUI), new object[] { someData });
return;
}
}
MSDN[^] holds some nice examples.

Are you all right my old friend? We haven't seen you in such a long time.

No worries, I'm fine, thanks. After long consideration I have decided not to spend time around here anymore. I don't like what CP has turned itself into; when publishing articles became nearly impossible, the bugs & sucks forum became the most active one, and CP staff didn't seem to care about it, I decided it was time to move on. When they seem to focus on membership counts, parallel sites, cosmetics, i.e. everything but quality and contributor's comfort, well that is their choice. The automatic downvote on every new message nailed it for me; it was yet another example of the don't-think-don't-test policy that had crept in. Maybe in the mean time things have changed for the better (I doubt it), I have no idea what the functionality or quality of the site currently is, I do know the new layout is making sure I won't return.
I have enjoyed the site and the community for many years; I learned a lot in the 5+ years I have been active here, and I am grateful for the guidance people like yourself have offered. I'll miss a number of nice guys (some of them long gone), and I will cherish the good memories, however this chapter has been closed.
So goodbye it is.
PS: While I much appreciate your enquiry, I unchecked e-mail notifications, as I don't want to enter a discussion on this subject. I had decided to leave quietly, and don't want to stir things up now.

Just in case you read this message, I wish you well for the future, and you should leave here knowing that you were appreciated, and that you did make a difference - and no one can ask for more than that. All the best for the future my friend, and if I'm ever back over in Belgium, the drinks are on me.

I Create Login From And MDI Form for a project
my requirement is view a mdi form after giving user name and password on user from,
but the problam is when i close the login form the mdi form also disposed how to overcome this problem
|
|
|
|
|
The reason this happens is because your Main method in Program.cs contains Application.Run(new LoginForm()); . This means that the Windows message loop is tied to your login form. The best thing to do is to show your login form as a modal dialogue, and if login is successful, you show your mdi form, like this:-
static void Main()
{
LoginForm login = new LoginForm();
if (login.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK)
{
Application.Run(new MdiForm());
}
else
{
Application.Exit();
}
}
Hope this helps

I have created a console app where it will finally create a text file. Everything run well when I run the program manually but not when I used scheduled task to run it.
Anyone know the reason?
|
|
|
|
|
You haven't described what goes wrong, so how can anybody guess what could be the cause?
Have you run the program in the debugger?
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.
|
|
|
|
|
When run with scheduled task, .exe run properly but it doesn't create text file as writen in codes.
It run well and a text file create when I run it manually.
|
|
|
|
|
Maybe it is a permissions issue. Is the scheduled task running as the same user as when run manually?
Have you attached a debugger to it when it's run as a scheduled task?
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

You DO have an exception-handler that catches and logs unhandled exceptions?
