Why do I still see his account active then?

Because I hadn't wielded my mighty tool on it.

Has anyone else noticed that the only activity on CP for atbennett[^] has been to post links to ITWORLD articles? It only ever has copied text from the article in question, and only ever links to ITWORLD. The user has never engaged with other users that reply to the threads either. Which makes me think that it is spam.
However, I see that atbennett won a competition for posting news links; CP wouldn't reward a spammer, would they? I also see that atbennett might actually be working for ITWORLD https://twitter.com/atbennett/[^]

Since her job seems to be to generate traffic on their site to increase their advertising revenue, and she never engages in the site in any other way, it sure seems like spam to me.
I don't know, feels like a gray area to me, so I brought it here for further discussion before I flag the user.

I don't have an answer to this, but veeraC85[^] is doing the same kind of thing with 133 answers in QA so far. Always posting links to technico.qnownow.com.
In general the answers are appropriate and similar to other answers. Some of his answers have even been marked as the solution by the OP, but occasionally he has awakened threads that are over a year old - I think that is wrong.

We encourage everyone to post as much interesting news as they can. I don't condone spamming or abuse of our forums, but I also don't see Amy as being over the top at this point. An interesting read is an interesting read.

Hi Chris,
I agree that "atbennet" is doing no damage here, but the alleged case of VeeraC85[^] inflating "authority reputation" by simply posting copied, or linked-to, work by others, as reported by "SoMad" above, and posting on QA answers over a year old, if it's being done frequently, and that is the only type of contribution to QA that VeeraC85 is making: I do think that is a serious violation of CP's standards, and should be dealt with.
best, Bill

I'm glad this account was disabled. This is not for the first time though. What is that? A binary mafia?
